Happy Monday Friends! This weekend was a whirlwind for me. I’ll be honest, its Sunday afternoon and I can barely keep my eyes open as I write this, but I really wanted to document this weekend. My weekend really started Thursday because I had Thursday and Friday off. Thursday was amazing – amazing. Kevin and I slept in and then went on a breakfast date and spent the day together running errands and working around the house. Then, we had a group of our friends over for game night which was pretty much a success, especially in the food category. People brought over some yummy, yummy food. Friday was slightly a blur but I got a lot of work done, went for run and got some sun in the backyard.
Saturday was really long day. I woke up around six in the morning, got ready and left for Lake Jackson. It is about a 4 hour drive from San Antonio, so I got there just in time for my Aunt’s benefit to start. I pulled in the parking lot about 15 minutes early and was overwhelmed by how many people were already there. It was truly an amazing day and words can’t express how awesome it was to see how loved and supported my Aunt is as she battles brain cancer.
The amount of donations and love that were given Saturday were out of this world. It truly blew my mind and I felt so very blessed and thankful for all of their support to our family. It was also really good to just to be around family and friends. In the picture above, you can see me with my parents in the lower right hand corner and my cousin Austin and I in the top left corner. Along with my aunts and dad in the bottom left and a picture of the crowd in the top right.
I ended up driving back to San Antonio Saturday night (so I was extremely exhausted from an emotional day + 8 hours of driving) and ended out my Sunday with church, laying out with friends by the pool and relaxing at home with my awesome husband. What did you do this weekend?
Oh, yeah – & Go grey in May to support Brain Cancer Awareness 🙂 ###

My heart lept when I saw your title. My 2.5 year old nephew just passed away from brain cancer. Thanks for bringing awareness and going grey!
