the early years
Kevin and I grew up in the same hometown, however, we didn’t meet until my Sophomore year and his Senior Year of high school. We ended up in the same computer class and slowly began talking and hanging out. After a couple weeks of getting to know each other, we went on our first date and became boyfriend-girlfriend on January 27, 2006.
After 7 months of dating, Kevin moved to San Antonio for college and to play baseball for UTSA. For the next two years, we had a long distance relationship.
I graduated high school in 2008 and moved to San Antonio to attend college at UTSA. At this point, Kevin and I both knew actually living in the same city again would either make or break our relationship. And… we both had the time of our lives. College was the most amazing experience for us and we were extremely blessed. Kevin was a pitcher for UTSA Baseball and I was in the Honors College and loving every minute of school.
God completely took us by surprise, neither of us was looking to fall in love, especially in high school, but we did. We were absolutely made for each other. No one could love me like he does. All his strengths are my weaknesses and all my strengths are his weaknesses. He knows exactly how to make me smile and our house is filled with constant laughter and fun.
At the end of our junior year in college, on May 26, 2010 Kevin and I got engaged! He proposed at The Westin La Cantera, a beautiful resort on a hill that overlooks the San Antonio Hill Country. It was an absolutely perfect day filled with so much joy.
The next year was one of the best of our life. It was our Senior year in college and we were very involved with FCA on campus. It was Kevin’s last year of college baseball and we had so much fun with our friends.
After 5 1/2 years of dating, we got married on July 16, 2011 in our hometown of Huntsville, Texas. Our Wedding day/week was so much fun and filled with constant joy and laughter! We left for our Honeymoon at the Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico the morning after our wedding. It was 7 days of love, sun and fun!

After graduating college and getting married, we decided to stay in San Antonio and begin our life in the workforce. Kevin was a Client Advisor at BMW and I was a Children’s Ministry Assistant at Oak Hills Church. We spent our free time volunteering at church and traveling with family.

In April of 2015, we welcomed our little girl Brooke into the world six weeks early! She was just the surprise we needed in our life and we couldn’t imagine our life without her. She is insanely smart, incredibly kind and so silly. We love you to pieces sister!

In March of 2017, Kevin Charles Clarke Jr. entered our life in true annoying little brother fashion, starting with a complicated pregnancy and ending with a mamas boy stage five clinger. He truly has my number, one smile from him melts my heart. He is incredibly handsome, super playful, and lovable. I love you my boo!
In June of 2017, we moved back closer to home and took on the adventure of changing careers and building a custom home. Kevin went into education as a Middle School History teacher and I decided to take Simply Clarke full time as an influencer/blogger.
On March 1, 2019 I suffered from a Spontaneous Bilateral VAD that caused me to have three strokes. It has been quite a recovery process since then, but we are incredibly thankful for all of the progress I have made and where I am today.
We currently live in a suburb of Houston with our two littles and love spending days on the lake and enjoying our time with friends and family. We have an amazing church and are so incredibly thankful for the life we live.
