Lets play 21 Questions! I always ask Kevin to play this with me and he makes fun of me, but Samantha from The Samantha Show tagged me in a post last week where she answered 21 Questions and I am suppose to keep the ball rolling! I asked for questions via social media and a few of you asked these questions below. Here we go:
1. How do you juggle blogging, your full time job, and family time?
This is a fantastic question! Caffeine. Caffeine. Caffeine. I’m kidding, kind of. Here is a glimpse into my schedule: I will start with Saturday, because that is when I “blog”. I spend all day Saturday working on blog posts, taking photos and answering emails. I also schedule out any social media that I can in advance. I do this because my husband works on Saturday, so I am home most of the day with Brooke (I also of course play with her and do all those mom things). When we have plans on the weekend or family in town, I blog during the week after work or on my lunch break. Sundays are reserved for family time completely unless I have a deadline that is a must meet. During the week, I focus on answering emails and social media. If I have any extra time during my lunch break or afterwork, I work on posts to get ahead of schedule.
2. What do you drink?
My Starbucks of choice is an Iced Carmel Macchiato or an occasional passion tea lemonade in the summer. Aside from that, I drink lots and lots of water. Occasionally I will have a diet coke, but I haven’t really been drinking them since before I was pregnant.
3. Do you have any advice on having Jesus time as new, busy and tired mom?
My best advice is don’t neglect it. As a new mom, you are exhausted, tired and spread very thin, but without Jesus, it is just worse. A few things I did/do in my life are make time for morning devotionals and lots of prayer. When Brooke was first born and we were doing nighttime feedings, I would pray while I was nursing. I would also read my morning devotional on my phone while she was nursing in the morning. And any bible studying I did would happen during nap time or while she was occupied playing with toys. Now, I pray on the way to work, read my devotional as soon as I get to work, pray more randomly throughout the day, read on my lunch break if I get a chance, and pray with my husband at night before bed. I hope that helps!
4. How do you best prepare for mornings with work and getting a baby ready?
Ahh! Well, on an ideal morning, I wake up at 6:30am, get ready for work and then wake Brooke up around 7:15 and get her ready for school. We end up leaving the house around 7:30-7:45am. To make our mornings efficient, I make sure all of Brooke’s food and bags are packed for school the night before. I also make sure I set out my lunch stuff or put everything in one place in the fridge. This helps me not forget anything in the morning! On a not so great morning, Brooke wakes me up at 6:00-6:30am, I bring her in the bathroom with me while I get ready. Usually she is occupied with a toy or two, but sometimes she is super vocal and wakes Kevin up too. After I’m ready, then I get her ready and head out the door.
5. Would you ever consider creating a YouTube channel to do fashion videos, how-to’s, hauls, videos and mom stuff or Vlogging?
I have thought about this before and enjoy being on camera, but I don’t think I have time to add one more social media channel to my list. Maybe eventually, but it’s not in my current plans.
6. What is your favorite scripture?
Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous – Romans 5:18-19
Above all, love eachother deeply, because love covers overa a multitude of sins – 1 Peter 4:8
Hebrews 11 – the whole thing!
7.Where is your favorite place to shop?
I don’t have just one favorite, but a few of mine are: Loft, Nordstrom, Gap, Francessca’s
8. What is your favorite food?
Candy. Pizza. Mashed Potatoes.
9. Favorite Movie?
Thats a hard one. Apollo 13. Armageddon. Couples Retreat. The Notebook.
10. Do you have any special talents?
I can say the ABCs backwards and hull hoop for like an hour while do tricks lol if you call those talents..
11. How many siblings do you have?
zero. But I do have two sister-in-laws
12. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A mommy – done, blogger -done. Hahaha. Really, I just want to keep using my creative vibes and be a mom so blogging is perfect for me!
13. Summer or winter?
Summa. The lake. The pool. The beach. The end 🙂
14. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy. Happy. Happy. I hate scary movies, I won’t even watch them.
15. What is your favorite cereal?
I love cinnamon toast crunch and raisin nut bran – I could eat cereal any time of day, multiple times a day
16. Computer or television?
BOTH!! I love my shows and I love the computer, duh. But probably computer the most.
17. What are your hobbies?
Shopping. Chilling with hubs and mommin – Are those hobbies?
18. What are your most used baby products (besides diapers and wipes of course)?
I would say we have used our Aden & Anais swaddles, Witt’s End Burp Cloths, Nuna Pipa Car Seat and Stroller the most! Brooke immediately clams down when we hand her a swaddle blanket and she loves to snuggle with them. Plus, we don’t leave home without our Witt’s End Burp Cloths because Brooke has been a constant spit up girl. It has reduced lately, but still not completely. And, last but not least, the Nuna products. I would honestly pay double for these. They are amazing and so worth every penny!! We also are starting to love our Zoli products up with these items. Brooke loves the sippy cups and I love the snack dividers.
19. What is your favorite sport?
Baseball. Easy. My husband played baseball through college and I love watching baseball. I do like professional football too. These are the only two I really care about, however, sports are constantly on our tv at home. All Sports. Tennis. Basketball. Golf. You name it.
20. Shoes or handbags?
Way easy question. Handbags for sure. I am not really a shoe person at all, but I love a good leather handbag.
21. What’s your favorite holiday?
My Birthday. duh. Kidding. It’s Christmas for sure.

I enjoyed this post a lot… honest and fun.
Balancing work, blogging and family is a difficult question, yet you make it sound almost easy. 🙂
I also agree that without Jesus everything would be worse. Also good that you make a little time throughout the day for prayer.
All the best and thank you for this post.
