We started off our vacation with a 6:00am flight. Give me all the coffee. This meant a 2:30am wake up call for this mama. Kevin and I barely got two hours of sleep to start off our day of traveling and boy were we feeling it. Traveling with a mini toddler is no joke. She was in a great mood and just wanted to explore around the airport and unfortunately, the plane. She just wanted to walk everywhere and didn’t understand why we had to stay sitting on the plane. Needless to say, Brooke’s first airplane ride wasn’t the easiest, but overall, she acted really good, she just wanted to play. We landed in Atlanta around 9:30 and then hopped in our rental car and were on our way to Hilton Head Island.
We stayed at the Sea Pines Resort, Inn & Club at Harbour Town. It is an amazing luxury resort that overlooks the golf course and is within walking distance of the Harbour Town lighthouse. From the personalized note in our room, to choclate bars on our pillows, to turn down service and iced tea in the lobby, they made everything extra special about our stay.
On our first day in Hilton Head, we really just explored the resort area and hung out with family. It was also my father-in-law’s birthday, so we went to dinner at The Black Marlin. The food was really good and the atmosphere was really great. The next day, we really relaxed all day and soaked up our vacation time. We spent the day at the pool, with family and eating ice cream at The Salty Dog Ice Cream Shop. Can we pause and talk about how amazing their Mint M&M Ice Cream was… I mean I could eat it every day.
Next, the wedding festivities began with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Everything went pretty smooth on the beach rehearsing for the wedding and then we headed to The Salty Dog for rehearsal dinner. The food was fantastic and we went to bed with very full tummies. Then, we woke up and were in full wedding mode. Kevin was our chauffeur for the day and all the girls got ready at the Plantation Clubhouse.
All went pretty smooth and we had a sunset wedding on the beach!! Brooke was slightly fussy during the ceremony but luckily, it was all super close family who understood and we held her on the side for the end of the ceremony. It was pretty late and she didn’t have a good nap since we were running around, so she did a fantastic job staying up late for the reception considering the big day she had.
The day after the wedding, we all had lunch as a family at The Crazy Crab. Their hushpuppies were really good and I liked the food a lot. After saying goodbyes, we did a little shopping and then said goodbye to Hilton Head. Hilton Head was a lot prettier than I expected and the trees were gorgeous. I loved just driving around the island. After one last drive through the beautiful trees, we hit the road for Atlanta… I’ll be posting more about Atlanta soon…

I have never been to Hilton Head but we frequent Charleston, all this food sounds amazing and I am glad your plane ride wasn’t too terrible!
