Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and I love shopping for friends and family. Since having Brooke, I have learned a lot about baby toys and which ones are great gifts. Before Brooke, I was quite lost in the toy aisle in terms of what was age appropriate, not now! I hit buybuy BABY for their Black Friday sale and got a lot of good toys for Brooke, our new little babe, and our nephew. They have such a great selection of learning toys, interactive toys and pretend play toys! Brooke is really the loving the pretend play toys right now. She likes cooking in the kitchen, playing with a toy vacuum, and with play food. Anyways, I decided to put together an Ultimate Baby Christmas Gift Guide this year to give you ideas for the little one in your life! I hope this helps you find the perfect gift!
0-6 months
Sophie: Sophie the giraffe is always a great gift for a new baby! It is perfect for teething and easy for them to grasp.
Stackable rings: This is one of Brooke’s most played with toys. She received it when she was around 4-5 months old and still likes to stack them at 19 months.
Wubbanub: Another great option for a newborn – 6 month old. Brooke loved her wubbanub and used it until she was 6 months old.
Piano Play Gym: We started using this with Brooke when she was 6 weeks old and She played with it until after she started sitting up.
Carseat/Stroller Toy: These are a great on the go option. We used them on Brooke’s carseat and in her stroller. They link together so they are fun for a baby to pull on and put in their mouth.
6-12 months
Rattle: We love Oball. We have this rattle and a traditional Oball. They are a great diaper bag toy and around the house. I tend to keep ours for on the go.
Puppy: Brooke was also given this as a gift when she about 9 months old and she couldn’t stop laughing. She thought it was so funny and she still loves playing with it today.
Soft Book: I say soft books because at this age, Brooke would just put a board book in her mouth and bite the pages. Soft books were great for her and she loved feeling the different textures.
Remote: Ahh… one of the best gifts. Brooke LOVES remotes. She wore her first one out so much that we had to get her a second one.
Singing Book: Another great gift. This was better toward the 12 month age when Brooke really started being interested in reading books. This one is fun and catchy with all of the music.
12-18 months
Learning Table: We got Brooke her learning table for her birthday and she instantly loved playing with it. I have noticed she doesn’t really have much interest in it anymore, so it will probably be being put up in our attic soon.
Walker: The same with this toy. Brooke got it for her birthday and while she has LOVED it since then, she is playing with it less and less. We got a good 6 months out of it though!
Push Cart: Brooke hasn’t had this toy, but while I was on buybuy BABY I saw this and thought it looked like a great toy. I could just see Brooke pushing it everywhere and putting stuff inside.
Book: While books are really a good gift at any age because it helps build up a child’s library, Brooke really started liking them in this age range. She loves getting out all of her books and she will sit in our lap and flip through the pages.
Riding Toy: Brooke has a rocker, but I have seen this push toy a lot and everyone has great things to say about it!
Laptop: I let Brooke pick out this toy and she loves it. She has a laptop like mama now. She still plays with this a lot.
18-24 months
Blocks: Brooke has just started to become interested in playing with Blocks and they have a set of these at her school that she likes a lot.
Play Kitchen: A few months ago, Brooke started getting interested in play kitchen at church. Now, she LOVES them. She is getting one for Christmas and I can’t wait to see her play with it. I know she is going to be so excited.
Play Food: You can’t have a kitchen without play food!
Ipad Protector: Recently, Brooke started being interested in watching short movies on the iPad, so I figure its time to grab a protective case.
I hope this list really helped you! If you are still feeling lost about what to buy the little one in your life, head to buybuy BABY and just talk to one of their knowledgable staff. One of my favorite things about buybuy BABY is that they have an amazing staff that is so friendly and very knowledgeable about the best and latest products on the market. It makes shopping a breeze and super fun!

This is a great guide, thanks for sharing! I was actually just looking at some of these toys at BabiesRUs but was so afraid that if I bought them without reading reviews, they would be just another toy collecting dust in our living room.
