Its no secret that our life has been crazy with our move. One thing has always helped me destress, and that is having a good morning routine. I feel like most of the time, if I start my day out good, the rest of the day follows. On top of moving, I am adjusting to the SAHM/blog life which is very different. Thus, my routine is changing a lot. We are currently still trying to get settled into our new routine, but here are 5 Tips For a Successful SAHM Morning Routine that I have found so far:
Start With Something You Love
I am a big morning person, so getting out of bed isn’t a problem for me, but I always start my day with something I love – a very tall glass of iced coffee or some other caffeine. With two kids, caffeine is a big necessity. Before kids, I was always a 10:30 bedtime type of person, but now, it seems like every night we don’t get to bed until after midnight.
Fill Your Tank
I also make sure to fill my tank physically with a good breakfast. I can’t be a good mom if I don’t take care of myself, so this is vital to “me time”. Right now, I am loving the new Oui by Yoplait. Oui is a new French style yogurt with a unique, thick, creamy texture plus it comes in such cute glass packaging. It is cultured in each glass for eight hours which brings the unique texture and the glass is recyclable. Oh and the name translates to “yes” in french… so “yes please” I want some more Oui! They have eight single-serve flavors (strawberry, vanilla, blueberry, peach, black cherry, coconut, lemon and plain) and two multipack flavors (strawberry and vanilla). On top of having an amazing texture, they are made with whole milk, no artificial flavors, no colors from artificial sources and real fruit on the bottom.
Plan, Plan, Plan
The next thing I do is check my planner and emails. Having a plan for our day is essential to my success as a SAHM. I find that when I don’t have a plan for our day, I either don’t get things done or I forget something important. I carefully plan out my week in my planner and be sure to write everything down. I also like to keep a very clean email. When my inbox is exploding, I can’t think straight so it is one of the first things I do in the morning.
Me Time
In a perfect world, I like to wake up early and have a little me time before the kids wake up. I either have a quite time or watch one of my shows. If I don’t get to do this in the morning, I try to have me time during nap time. As a new SAHM, I have found that this is crucial to a successful day. You pour out so much of yourself to your family all day long and you need some time to fill your tank.
Get Dressed
Yep, get ready. This isn’t always practical for me every morning, but I try to do at least one thing. I either do my hair or my make up. Some days, if we are running errands or I am working on a project, I get fully ready. For me, I just feel more productive and better about myself when I take the time to get ready.
I hope these tips really help you get your perfect SAHM morning schedule down. And be sure to SAY Oui to Oui by Yoplait and grab one for yourself at Walmart.

I don’t have kids yet but I work from home and I feel like a lot of these things apply. Some days I wake up and am so stressed/eager to get going that I rush into work without getting dressed or eating something. I definitely feel calmer and clearer when I take the time to eat, get dressed, go over my schedule, and start my day right.
