Sleep… coveted sleep. Everyone told me after kids you would never sleep again and boy where they right! Well, at least for the first little bit! But then after that, you LIVE tired because you are constantly chasing them around, plus trying to keep up with your ever growing schedule. Insert lots and lots of caffeine to keep up which leads to worse sleep at night. Well friends, I’m on a quest to sleep better! I feel like I’m constantly telling Kevin how tried I am so I am taking these 5 Steps to Sleep Better.
Invest in great pillows
Woah, a new pillow is game changing! I recently got Kevin and I these amazing SensorGel Advanced iCOOL Hypoallergenic Gel Memory Foam pillows from Macy’s. I was honestly sleeping on a flat pillow that was who knows how old and I kept telling myself I needed a new pillow but never took the time to order a new one. Well, I’m so glad I did something for ME and ordered these SensorGel pillows. My kids keep trying to steal them, because they are so comfortable! They are cool, soft and plush. I should have ordered them WAY sooner, trust me, you want them!
Invest in a great mattress
Where you are sleeping makes all the difference. Most of you know that we are living in one of Kevin’s parents houses while ours is being built, so while I don’t have my mattress, I am still sleeping on a great mattress. I miss my bed the most out of all our stuff, so I highly recommend a good mattress you LOVE like that. You know a good one when you feel it! SensorGel makes mattresses too!
Keep your planner by your bed
If you are anything like me, you can’t shut your mind off at night. I keep my planner or a blank paper by my bed to write down any notes as I fall asleep so I can clear my mind. I also use the notes in my phone sometimes instead since its dark. I highly recommend this.
Limit your food/drink intake before bed
This probably makes you laugh, but I have read so many places to limit what you eat and drink before bedtime. My husband and i always crave sweets before bed, but then we can’t fall asleep. Or, if I drink a lot before bed I have to get a million times in the night. You catch my drift, think before you eat or drink. Is it worth it?
