This is a special week! You probably haven’t heard yet, because its not necessarily big news, but this week we celebrate National Compliment Day on the 24th and National Spouse Day on the 26th! I think it is such a great opportunity to celebrate your spouse by giving them compliments all week. You can simply tell them in person, or take it a step further and get creative with your approach. I like to leave little notes around the house, send texts or send emails the most. There are so many compliments to give your spouse and I hope these spark your thoughts to really personalize these for your significant other!
Compliment their looks
Men and women both care about looks wether they want to admit it or not. Women want to know you find them attractive, even if they are in sweatpants and an old shirt. men want to know they are desired and respected.
Examples:
I am more in love with you than ever.
Your eyes look so beautiful.
I love it when you wear your hair like this.
This is one of my favorite outfits.
I’m so attracted to you.
You look incredibly sexy.
I cannot wait for later tonight.
You look ridiculously handsome/gorgeous.
I love being with you.
You still give me butterflies/take my breath away.
Compliment their work
Work can be a very heavy task. While some people love their jobs, most don’t and it can be a source of stress. Make sure to let your spouse know how much you support their work and how much you appreciate how hard they work.
Examples:
I love how driven you are.
I so admire how you achieve whatever you put your mind to.
Of course people want to work with you, you have amazing abilities and are so good with people.

You are so unique – what makes you a good ____ (salesperson) is ______ (how much you care about people)
I believe in your ability.
Thank you for all the time you invest in becoming a better worker for our family.
Compliment their parenting
Parenting is so much fun, but in the same breath can be extremely hard. Moms and dads typically spend a lot of time worrying. When you see your spouse making a positive impact on your kids in big ways or small, say so!

You handled that so well, you are such a good dad.
You are our hero.
Compliment them as a spiritual leader
While husbands are charged with the task of being the spiritual leader of the home, wives role in setting the tone of their house is important as well. You both are responsible for your home and raising your children in a Godly manner. Encourage one another and build each other up toward the same goal.
You are one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. I am so humbled God gave me you.

Your love for the Lord just shines through your life.
You are an amazing example to us of grace and love.
Compliment their character
You may be the only person who knows the sacrifices your spouse has made to do what’s right, rather than to simply get ahead. Let them know when you notice their integrity and character. Calling these things out is so important.
Examples:
You are my best friend.
That takes an incredible amount of courage.
I love who you are when no one is watching.
I am blessed to be married to you.
Your integrity is inspiring.
I admire you.
I trust you.
You handled that incredibly well.
Your support means the world to me.
Thank you for your honesty and transparency. You are the best person I know.
Compliment their service
Acts of service are something that easily go unnoticed. Chores must be done. Dishes need washed, clothes need folded, kids need picked up from school, the trash needs taken out… there are so many needs. Take time to notice what your spouse does for you and your family.

Compliment their achievements
At work, at home, in their hobby – compliment their achievements. Did your spouse get a promotion? Compliment them. Did you spouse get a hole in one or reach a new running goal? Let them know how proud you are of them.
