When you’re a kid, summer means pool days, playing with friends, going to the lake and just having the best time outside. As an adult, summer means sunshine, laughter, fun days with your babies, and a great Summer Sale at Randalls for summer playdate essentials like Lucky Charms, DIGIORNO®, Ben & Jerry’s, Snack Packs, PLANTERS, Mott’s®, Bounty and so much more! It’s funny how your priorities shift as an adult, but I get so excited to help create amazing summer memories for my kids. This summer, we have so many fun activities planned for the kids and I can’t wait to try these 6 Fun Summer Playdate Ideas! I know that my kids are going to have a blast.
Breakfast of Champions
Breakfast is a winner any time of day, so why not a have a breakfast-themed playdate filled with Lucky Charms? You can have a reading session while the kids are munching on their snacks or you can even turn on great cartoons. Recently, we have been introducing the kids to cartoons from our childhood and they are loving them! Think outside of the box and put a fun twist on “breakfast”.
Pizza Playdate
Our kids come by their love of pizza honestly because I’m obsessed. I could eat pizza almost every day; I just love it so much. Another fun play date idea is to have a pizza party! You can set up a movie outside and have pizza on the driveway or you can have everything inside and make tents. DiGiorno is perfect for this because they have such delicious pizza that is super easy to make at home while the kids are playing or watching the beginning of a movie.
Ice Cream Social
A pizza party is hard to beat, but then there is ice cream. Specifically, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in Half Baked. This combination is seriously so delicious and has the kids begging for more. The best part of an ice cream social is picking a fun time of day. I like to let the kids take it outside, too, so then we can just hose down the mess later!
Outdoor Art
Another fun outside activity is craft time! We get outside with our chalk or crafts and our Snack Packs to enjoy the weather. The kids love getting to be creative and eat their yummy Snack Packs. This is also a fabulous snack to have on hand for after dinner!
Game Time
Another awesome playdate idea is a game night! This can be filled with traditional inside games or even fun outside games like t-ball or soccer to get the whole family involved! We are a competitive family, so getting outside with a bat and ball is one of our favorite things. Don’t forget the Planters peanuts for when you work up an appetite!
School Session
Wait… school session? I thought we were out for summer? Well, not in our house because Brooke loves to “pretend” school. This is also such a great playdate activity because you can work on new learning skills all while having fun. We typically practice our counting, letters or puzzles. Another fun activity we like to do in “school” is group our snacks into colors. The kids like using Motts because they can easily group them into categories and then eat them!
I hope these 6 fun summer playdate ideas spark even more activity ideas for your kids. Don’t forget to stock up on your Bounty paper towels, too, for all your activities!
