This post is sponsored by Serena & Lily, however, all opinions are my own.
The holidays are officially here! We are hosting Thanksgiving this year, so this week, I officially sent out all of our invitations and am prepping the menu. There are so many different avenues to think about when hosting during the holidays, so today, I thought I would share 5 Steps To Prep Your Home For Guests that stay overnight including some of my new guest bedroom favorites from Serena & Lily.
Refresh Your Guest Room
If you are having overnight guests, one of the first things to do is to make sure they have a space of their own that feels warm and cozy. I know a lot of times, a guest bedroom can be the last room in our house we like to spend time or money on, however, by having a great guest room, you step up your hosting game and really show great hospitality.
We decided on the Soho Duvet Cover in navy for our guest bedding paired with the Southport Sheet Set. I also grabbed two Euro Westwood Quilted Shams in Navy and the decorative Amalie Pillow Cover. Euro pillows are my favorite type to use because I love the full, crisp look they give a bed when made. I’ve been really happy with our choice in bedding. Serena & Lily products are truly best-in-class and so luxurious.
Refresh the Bath Room
The next area I focused on refreshing was our guest bathroom. I wanted to keep the look very classic with clean lines, so I decided on the Napa Bath Collection in Fog. Our guest bathroom is grey and white, so these paired perfectly. We ordered the Bath Sheet, Hand Towel and Washcloths to complete our set. I really enjoy how large the bath sheet is and it is so soft. These are the perfect guest bathroom towels. I also added the Guerneville Bath Rug in white and love the quality of the rug. I really think its the little details that make a difference (like stepping on an ultra soft rug when you get out of the shower!).
Little Details
This leads me to the little details! Thoughtfulness is in the details. In our guest bedroom, I prepped it with the Palomino Alpaca Throw in blue, because it completes the look of the bed, but also because I like having a blanket easily accessible for guests. I can’t tell you how many times we have been staying at someones house who keeps their temperature cooler than ours. By having a blanket in your guest room, you ensure that your guest can sleep comfortably at a temperature thats great for them. Also, in the bathroom, we added this small Dip-Dyed Stool in white, so guests could easily place their towel on it or even a water bottle, soap or other items!
Clean Your Space
Once you have all of your items picked out, it’s time to clean your space. This means picking up your house, de-cluttering, and cleaning. Make sure all new items are clean, fresh and pressed. I just love the smell and warmth of freshly clean sheets and your guests will too!
Stock Up on Essentials
Again, this could easily fall into the little details but it is “essential”. Make sure your guest bathroom is stocked with everything your guest might need from toilet paper, to extra tooth brushes, to shampoo and conditioner. We keep our guest bathroom stocked with extras of all essentials in case someone forgets to bring something they need.
