This post is sponsored by Nabisco, however, all opinions are my own.
After school is easily one of the most stressful times of my day. Between car rider lines, school pick ups, homework, and racing to after school activities, things can get pretty crazy. It is just an extremely fast-paced time of day for our family and I knew we need to change. I know so many mom friends that feel the exact same way about “after school”. So, after some trial and error, I came up with a game plan to tame the crazy!
I tried several different tactics throughout the year, but finally found one that turned our after school time into a much more enjoyable time of day. Here is this mom’s secret to the after school crazy: planning, planning, planning… and Nabisco snacks from Walmart!!
Yes, that might seem simple, but it has truly worked for our family.
Each afternoon I take about 15 minutes before I leave to get in the car rider line, and plan out our afternoon. Having a game plan is key for me, because this gives me a clear path. Some days we have practice, some days we run errands, some days we go to the park, but I have a plan before I leave so I can clearly communicate expectations to the kids. This helps everything go so much smoother.
Next, I make sure we have everything we need to be successful – that might be a change of clothes, or different shoes. But, whatever it is, I make sure I have planned ahead of time. And, I always bring the SNACKS!
Which leads me to my next key thing – a great snack! There is just something about a good snack that really turns your day around. And, my kids and I LOVE the Snacking Essentials Variety 30 Count, Chips Ahoy! 18 Count, RITZ Portion Pack 18 Count and RITZ Bits Variety 20 Count.
I keep these stocked in our panty weekly, because they are so great for our on the go needs. They are perfect for lunches, road trips, after school sports, late night snacks – you name it! I love the ease of grabbing these for the kids and myself on the go.
Plus, these were all essentials for me as a kid, so I love seeing my kids enjoy the same snacks I did growing up. You can easily find all of these at your local Walmart. I typically do grocery pick up and it makes it even easier to stock up on essential Nabisco snacks and my other grocery items.
So, if you are struggling through the after school grind, I hope my mom secret to the after school crazy works for you! A little planning + a great snack!
