I know sometimes it can be hard to find the right words to pray. I have had friends say “I just don’t know where to start”. My response is to just start talking! But, I love to share prayers from my heart here and on Facebook page to encourage others in their walk and prayer life. My prayer is that these prayers help guide you or spark your prayer life. However, at the end of the day, they are simply prayers I have prayed in my life. 7 days of the week, 7 prayers for your Husband’s Wife – thats you!
Lord I pray for my walk with you.
Lord, You alone are mighty, You alone are good. You alone are perfect. I know that everything in my life falls into place when I seek You. That may not mean that everything is perfect, but it does mean that I feel Your peace. I feel Your presence. Lord, may I seek You first. May Your Word fill my life and my lips. May I have a desire for You and Your Word. Lord, where I am stagnate, light my soul on fire. Where I struggle, make me new. Lord, the desire of my heart is to do Your will. I love You Lord. I give my life to you. AMEN.
I pray that I would feel worthy.
Lord, I confess that the world we live in makes me feel unworthy at times. I compare myself to others and feel like I just don’t measure up. It may be my appearance, my job, or a million other things. May I remember who I am and whose I am. You have gifted me immensely and your love for me is unmeasurable. Give me the ability to see myself through your eyes as a daughter of the King and worthy. I pray that I am able to take my thoughts captive and turn them to you. In Your Name I Pray, AMEN.
I pray for encouragement and that I would encourage.
Lord I pray for encouragement. May this come in the form of praise at work or praise at home. I pray that you would speak to me in powerful ways God and encourage my heart. I also pray that I would be an encouragement to others. I pray that I would see blessings and strengths of others and bring out the best in them. I pray that I would be incredibly kind and communicate my thanksgiving to others. I pray for a spirit of encouragement and light. I pray that Your love would overflow into all areas of my life. AMEN.
Respect.
Lord, I know in Your Word, you call wives to respect their husbands. You did not do this to make us submissive or “less than”. You did this to show us how to compliment each other well. May I learn ways I can respect my husband and show him love through this. My desire is to be a helpmate to my husband, I pray for our friendship and I pray that I would respect him in every way. I pray that he would feel respected and cherished by me. Where I stumble, help me God. AMEN.
I pray for rest.
I confess that I am busy. I tend to take on more than I can handle. I enjoy the busy. Then, sometimes, responsibilities I don’t request or sign up for come up. I try to balance being a wife, mom, friend, daughter, coworker… and it just doesn’t work. Give me rest Lord. When I feel overwhelmed, grant me your peace. Show me how to rest in Your Word and in Your presence. Teach me to the wisdom of learning “no” in proper times. Teach me how to rest. AMEN.
For my expectations.
Lord, I admit that have a lot of expectations. Some are unrealistic and some are reasonable, but I pray that I would release my husband from fulfilling the areas where I should be looking to you. I pray that I would let go of the small things and focus on serving others. Marriage isn’t always equal and I pray that I would set aside my pride and remember that You love us unconditionally and that is how I am called to love my husband. Love isn’t keeping track of who did the dishes last, its seeing a need and being a good helpmate. I pray that my husband and I would both be each other’s helpmates. Let us work together to overcome expectations and clearly communicate. AMEN.
I pray for Joy.
Lord, I know that pure joy only comes from you. I pray for joy in my life and in my marriage. I pray that we would follow after you and that your love would penetrate every aspect of our heart and life. I pray that we would be lights for you in this dark world. I pray for peace and patience and joy. May my life represent you. My our house be joyous. May it be full of love and kindness. AMEN.
