We are a busy people. You see it every day, all around you. Everyone is rushing, everyone has busy schedules, work is crazy and there just isn’t enough time in the day. People are stressed out. Did you know that stress is a huge factor in anxiety and many minor health problems? Dealing with stress and working to find balance tends to be a huge struggle for most people. I know for me, I have had stressful seasons in my life and found different ways to combat the stress so that it doesn’t lead to other issues. Sometimes, this is easier said that done for me, but I thought I would share a few little habits to help de-stress just in case they could possibly help even just one person! 9 Little Habits To Help De-stress
Supplement Calm
Did you know that having healthy magnesium levels and balances in calcium is important to your level of calm? Natural Vitality is a magnesium supplement that is a trusted way to help achieve and experience calmness. Natural Vitality CALM is a fruity, effervescent powder that promotes healthy magnesium levels and balances calcium intake when mixed in drinks—helping you to feel more connected and in control of your state of calm. Good health is all about balance and Natural Vitality CALM in Raspberry Lemon flavor is a magnesium powder that represents one reliable and natural way of creating your moments of CALM.
Practice Thankfulness
Gratitude and stress cannot live in the same space. Practicing thanks leads to gratefulness and gratefulness leads to joy. When joy is present, stress is not. Think on all things you have to be thankful for. It even helps me to make a list or start with the letter A. I am thankful for an “appreciative spouse” who acknowledges all I do around the house. I am thank for a “break” during nap time when I can get work done.
Intentionally Pray
Give it to God and let it go. The majority of the things we worry and stress about end up irrelevant in the end. We waste our time and our joy. Stop wasting your moments on stress. Give them over.
Get Active
Think reading, working out, listening to music, etc. Reading is one of the top “calming” activities and while I know this might not be for everyone, it is a big de-stresser for me. My husbands personality would say “watching tv”. Either way, find an activity that brings you peace. Is it reading? Is it a show? Is it taking a walk? What gives you calm?
De-clutter Your Space
Having clutter in your home, at your work, or in your life in general can cause you un-needed stress. It is time to take out the garbage! De-clutter your desk at work or go through your mail sitting on your counter. Take time to clean out your space. Maybe its your refrigerator? Maybe its your planner? Whatever it is, clean it out and de-clutter!
Journal Your Thoughts
Journalling can be extremely therapeutic. This is something else I practice, but through blogging. I don’t physically write by hand, but I type out my thoughts or write on a topic and its a big stress relief for me.
Unplug Technology
In today’s society, there is so much comparison online that can be a big source of anxiety and stress. If you are feeling discouraged while online, it might be time to consider “unplugging” from technology for a few hours a day or even a week. Taking time away can be good if it isn’t helping better your life.
Set A Bedtime
Yes, sleep. You might need sleep. Everything seems worse when you are tired. Get some sleep. Getting the proper amount of sleep for your body can even make you more productive and increase your ability to handle your work load. More time in your day doesn’t always equal quality. Get the sleep your body needs to you can function productively!
Dance Party
When all else fails, have a dance party! That is our house rule. When nothing seems to be going right or every one is in a bad mood – we dance it out. We “reset” the tone.
