It’s no secret – I love Pretty Little Liars. I have no clue what it is about the show that drew me in but I am definitely hooked. I haven’t missed an episode and lets just say when I remember its Tuesday, I get super pumped, because I know its going to be a good night. Although last night was the season finale, so Tuesdays are pretty much going to be boring again until it comes back on.
Anyways, here are 5 Life Lessons you can pretty much pull out of any PLL episode. Its brilliant really, love PLL so much.
1. Stand Up For What You Believe In
A is constantly threatening the girls and coming after them or someone they love. They have pressure on all sides constantly to give up what matters most to them (and sometimes even each other). But, even with all of the pressure, the girls never give into A. They stand up for what they believe in and don’t let A run their lives. I love this, because things in life will just plain knock you down and you will have pressure to give in at times, but you have to stand up for what you believe in and fight.
2. Your Flaws Don’t Define You
Everyone has flaws. Aria hid her fathers affair and dated her teacher. Spenser cheated, went slightly crazy and not to mention her family has a ton of secrets. Hanna had an eating disorder, had her heartbroken and covered up stuff for her mom. Emily is a lesbian and was scared to tell everyone. A used each of these to try break the girls and exploit them, but in the end they survived and thrived. Each of these issues seemed like such deep dark secrets at first and the girls fought to keep them hidden, but once they were out, the world accepted it and moved on. I think that is an awesome life lesson. We all have flaws and issues in our life but keeping them in does nothing for us but make us vulnerable and lonely.
3. Life Is So Much Better With Best Friends
No matter what Aria, Spenser, Hanna and Emily always have each others back. They have all been in fights with each other and hurt each others feelings, but at the end of they day, they love each other and make the best team. At times in the show, it makes me upset when they keep secrets from each other because they are always the strongest when they honest with each other. Plus, Best Friends = a lot of laughter and fun times. Even though A is constantly making their lives miserable, they still enjoy each others friendships and laugh from time to time (normally thanks to Hanna).
4. Burn It
Seriously, if you don’t want anyone to find out – you have to burn it. The girls have tried to get rid of diaries, murder weapons, pictures, videos, etc and every time they didn’t burn it, it resurfaced against them. Life lesson, if you don’t want it coming back to bite you or anyone else to see – burn it. Plus, what a great excuse to pyro it up!
5. Live In The Moment
Seriously, enjoy life while you can, because they next thing you know, you might be hit by a car or headed to jail for a crime you didn’t commit. Or you might get trapped in a burning building. Or you might find dirt in your bed. Or you might disappear in a magic trick. Or you might get kidnapped and put in a box while your friend is busy worrying about how she might disappear in said magic trick. Or a car might drive through your house. Or you might drown. Or you might find out your boyfriend is a liar and pretty much A.
Live every day like A might decide its your last

Last night’s episode though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh. Also, it drives me nuts that they do things alone in the show. SO unrealistic, but love it no matter what.

Still have to watch last night’s episode but I totally agree with your takeaways from the show. As unrealistic as the plot may be I love that it portrays strong female characters who no matter what adversity they face they truly try to get past it & become stronger because of it!

I love the friendship among the four of them and how each one has that little extra connection with another one. It’s so cute and it makes me wish I had girlfriends as close as that!
I also love how the liars just get into their cars in the middle of the night and have a road trip, haha. As scary as it is, I wouldn’t mind doing that with my friends 😛
