The past few weeks, it has really just been on my heart to pray for marriages, specifically all of your marriages. Then, last week, I received an email with a special prayer request for a marriage and I just wanted to take today to pray over your marriage and I hope you will do the same for this community of women that read Simply Clarke.
Lord,
Today, I come to you and thank you for marriage. You are the ultimate creator of marriage and you know that we were made to desire relationships. I just thank you for how you created us uniquely male and female. I want to pray for protection of marriages today. Every day, our marriages are being attacked from all sides in big and small ways. The enemy is relentlessly trying to tear apart marriages and downplay the covenant of marriage. So many marriages are suffering and so many people feel like there is no way to heal. I want to lift up these marriages that are suffering right now. Lord, I just pray that where anger and hurt reside, you would replace with patience and love. Where they see no answer, may they seek you to begin reconciliation. Lord, restore marriages. We know that you have the power to heal and save our marriages and we ask that you would heal them. I also pray for strength today. Strengthen our marriages. Where we are weak, make us strong. Where we are being attacked, help us build strongholds. Where the day to day struggles of life are setting in, renew our souls. Renew our love. Renew our passion. Lord, breath life into our marriages and help them thrive. Show us how to love one another as you love us. Finally, I pray for trust in You. I pray that we would trust in the power of prayer, your word and You alone. In Your Name I pray, Amen.

Thanks for sharing, marriages really do need prayers. When my husband and I were getting married a small prayer was done, it was very special.

What a beautiful prayer. My heart aches when I see marriages end. My husband and I have been married for over 19 years. It hasn’t always been easy. In fact, there are some years that I look back on and know the only way we survived is God. I am so grateful He brought us through because the mountains are so much more beautiful when you’ve walked in the valley. I read an article once that was written by an older couple. They stated that the reason not many divorces occurred 50 years ago was because when something was broken you fixed it. You didn’t throw it away. I have held on to that.
Thank you for caring so much about God’s covenant and being a wonderful example to the blogging world. 🙂
