Yay for being done with the 1st Trimester and being that much closer to meeting our little bundle of joy! I started taking pictures each week as soon as we found out, so that I would be able to document it to look back on later. In reality, I haven’t changed much at all over the 1st Trimester. I gained about 3 pounds which fluctuates in a day normally, so basically I haven’t really gained weight, although my stomach is sticking out a little bit.
We had three appointments in the first trimester. Our first appointment was very exciting and nerve racking. We were pretty late to our appointment, because of traffic and then had to wait forever, but when we finally started our ultrasound, it was amazing. The baby was so tiny it just looked like a dot. However, we could see the heartbeat and that was really cool. We were a little earlier than we thought and some of my levels were low, so they scheduled another appointment two weeks later to see the baby again. At our second appointment, I was amazed at how much the baby had grown. This time, we could visibly see the head and body with the heart beating inside the body. It was ridiculously amazing. I teared up a little at this one. They took more blood and we found out after that my levels were lower, so they put me on something to help with those for a week. Our next appointment wasn’t for four weeks and that appointment went extremely fast. They basically took my vitals and we heard the baby’s heartbeat on the doppler.
Overall, we had a little bump in the first trimester with my levels and food poisoning once, but I feel extremely blessed we are now in the 2nd trimester and I can’t wait to find out the gender!
