I’ve never really been a “goals” person or one to set New Year’s resolutions. However, I am a big planner and love strategies/goals in a business sense. Last year around this time, I set very specific goals for my blog and life, however, they were lost when our house got broken into. You would think I could just rewrite them, but honestly, I hadn’t looked at them enough times to remember them in detail.
I think goals are great in the sense that they give you direction and something to strive for, however, I also think you should reach for the stars when setting goals and that philosophy doesn’t always produce completed goals. So, I have a love-hate relationship with them, kind of like ice cream (who am I kidding, there is no hate there except when we are out and i’m craving it).
My conclusion: I would rather dream big, push my limits, and conquer a little fear than be satisfied with mediocre. I will be writing some very specific goals this week that I will most likely keep to myself (mainly due to the fear thing I spoke about lol – baby steps), but I wanted to share some general goals I have here.
Blogging: To keep doing what I love. I enjoy writing about my life, marriage, faith and products I adore. I’m sure this list will include our little baby a lot this year, but thats part of “life”, so it counts. I want to continue to post 5 days a week and grow this little space. I hope that this year I can bring encouragement to others, inspire people in their faith and help spur marriages to thrive.
Instagram: I want to be way better at documenting my everyday life. To me, instagram is all about the little moments in time and I want to capture those, especially with the coming of our little bundle of joy.
Secret project: One of my big goals last year was to finish a secret project I have been working on. I was well on my way to finishing early when our life got a little flipped upside down. A lot of the events of last year left me uninspired and honestly not wanting to touch the project very much. However, I hope that this year I will have the time and inspiration to finish.
One thing that scares me: This could be physically having our baby (i’m in denial that has to happen) or something else I decide. If I finish my secret project, actually taking the next step could fit this goal as well.
Parenting: Get through the first 6 months lol. I really don’t have specific goals on parenting because honestly, I have no clue what life will look as a family of 3. However, my plan is just to go with the flow and not have a plan.
Marriage: I know that our marriage will likely change this year with our new little addition as well. I want to make sure I keep our marriage as a huge priority and learn how we mix as mommy and daddy. I want to keep learning more about Kevin everyday and striving to love him unconditionally.
Faith: My prayer is that I would grow deeper in my relationship with God, share my faith with others, break down some of the walls I have put up this past year from sadness, and fully live within His will for my life.
