1. Go on a hike in a beautiful park

3. Check your local summer events, sometimes they offer free movies in the park, etc
4. Check online for free concerts in your area. Maybe at nice pizza place or outdoor restaurant and enjoy.
5. Outdoor picnic – you each choose your favorite snacks
6. Volunteer at a local pet shelter

8. Play arcade games like your kids again
9. Go to the zoo
10. Go on an ice cream date
11. POOL DAY!! (my favorite, complete with a sonic run)

13. Staycation: Book a night at a local resort and enjoy the atmosphere!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I just recently moved to San Marcos, TX and the job I got allows me to have the summers off (beyond excited about that). Since my Fiance is still in school he gets the summers off too. We knew we wanted to make this summer absolutely amazing especially now that we are so close to Austin, but sometimes you can just got blank on things to do. I know we have done that multiple times. This list is so great to remember! I already know of 5 things I want to do asap haha!

I love the idea of a staycation! It’s exhausting to plan a whole weekend away, not to mention expensive and exhausting to travel. A quick little staycation at a place close by sounds like the best of both worlds 🙂 Thanks for these great ideas!
