This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Diaper Genie® but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PlaytexEssentials http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
When I was registering for my baby showers, I remember being so stressed. How was I suppose to know what bottles she would like or what diapers would be a good fit for her? Would she like a pacifier? Would she need those pacifier wipes or would I be a mom that just puts it my mouth to clean it? So many questions went through my mind and I relied on posts like this and family advice to make my decisions. Here is my list of 10 Perfect Baby Shower Gifts:
1. Aden & Anais Swaddles
These things are amazing. They are light weight and super soft. We have one in her crib, one in the diaper bag and one downstairs. Brooke uses these everyday. They are a great buy. I recommend having at least 4 of them, if not two sets.
2. Diaper Genie
A Diaper Genie from Target is a must if you don’t want your nursery to smell bad all the time. It locks in that awful diaper smell and keeps your nursery smelling fresh. On top of that, it is super easy to use, you just load in the bags and start putting your babies diapers in. At first, Kevin and I just put diapers in our normal bathroom trash cans and were having to empty them daily! Now, we just use the diaper pail and it holds Brooke’s diapers for the week with no bad smell.
Also, they have a great “Mommy Time” Rewards Program, you can earn points to use towards great rewards for yourself every time you buy or register for Diaper Genie products. It is super easy, after you purchase a product, just snap a photo of your store receipt on your phone and upload it to your Mommy Time Rewards profile. When you have enough points, you just login to your account and redeem your points for eGift Card reward from participating retailers like Sephora or Zappos.
3. Mom Gift: Gift cards for Pedicure and Dinner
This was one of my favorite gifts to receive as a pregnant woman. Honestly, you really get to a point when you can’t reach your feet to paint your own toe nails and a pedicure is amazing. Also, one of our friends gave us a gift card to go out to dinner together. Those last date nights as a family of two were awesome. Plus dinner gift cards are great to have after the baby is born and you have no energy to cook!
4. Burp Cloths
I honestly didn’t register for burp cloths, but these are some of our most used items. Brooke spits up and drools constantly, so these are amazing. I suggest having at least 8+ of them. We got through so many in a week and we have them in anymore. My favorite ones are from Witts End Design (etsy shop).
5. Gift cards for diapers and wipes
I say gift cards, because we quickly learned that the best diapers for Brooke are Pampers Sensitive ones. Her skin is extremely sensitive and these are the only ones that don’t give her a diaper rash. A stock of diapers are nice to have before hand and you obviously have to try a few brands to see what works for your baby, but gift cards are just as nice.
6. Pacifiers
At least have a set of two in case your little one loves them as much as Brooke. We love the wubbanub and avent soothies. She has loved her pacifier since the day she was born.
7. Pump
Invest in a good pump, especially if you are going back to work. I used my pump everyday for the first month and now that I am back at work, I am using every week day again.
8. Baby Bath
We hate our bath tub we got for Brooke. She slips and slides in it and it constantly buckles underneath her. We have to put a towel in it so she doesn’t slide and now she sits at an angle because 1/2 of it is buckled. I don’t have any good advice on a brand here because we haven’t been happy with ours. I need to breakdown and buy a new one. I honestly think it will be a good one when Brooke can sit up, but we still have a ways to go before that.
9. Car seat
We love our Nuna Pipa. It is the lightest carseat on the market and super sleek. It is so easy to install and super durable. Best gift.
10. Stroller
We didn’t really register for a stroller because I thought I would just wear Brooke in a sling a lot or hold her. Big Mistake. Strollers are the bomb. Get one. We got a Nuna because we loved her carseat so much. It is a great brand.

This is a great list. I had a similar issue with the bath tub we had, but I just bought the Angelcare “bath seat” the other day and it’s been working out well. It’s been a lot of fun, because I can stick my 6-month old in and take a bubble bath with him! 🙂
