This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Burt’s Bees. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am not big on New Year’s Resolutions, one reason being no one really follows them through for the rest of the year. I do, however, like to set goals, which is kind of the same thing, but since “resolutions” are a popular topic and sound a little better than goals, this post about “2016 Beauty Resolutions”.
Growing up, I have never really been that good at makeup. Let’s face it, my makeup routine started in 5th Grade with pink and blue glitter eye shadow on Fridays, because that was the only day I was allowed to wear makeup. Thank you mom and dad for the Friday rule, but really, why did you not ban me from the awful color choices?
Fast forward a few years, and I figured out the whole make up thing with subtle natural colors. However, I will raise my hand and admit, I have had the same make up routine since High School. Yes, you read that right, since High School. I have changed brands slightly, but overall, my look has been the same. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, right?! Yikes! So obviously, for 2016, one of my goals is to play with my makeup routine and freshen it up to make sure it is “adult/momma” worthy.
To begin freshening up my look, I decided start with looking into different lipstick options. Enter, the new line of Burt’s Bees lipstick. In the past, I have been anti- lipstick, because my lips are super dry and lipstick really just seemed to dry them out more. However, Burt’s Bees lipstick hydrates and moisturizes lips for 8 hours. I could really tell the difference as soon as I applied it to my lips. They are creamy, yet lightweight and 100% natural with ingredients like Beeswax, Raspberry Seed Oil and Vitamin E. The new line is Available at Target and comes in 14 full coverage, satin-finish shades.
The 14 shades are perfect for someone like me who is just starting out and interested in playing with different colors and shades. It is also perfect for the makeup addict who loves having different shades for different moods or occasions. I have to say, I tried the bright red first. I love the idea of red lipstick and it did not disappoint. I loved the color and how cute my lipstick line was on my Starbucks cup.
I was also drawn to the light pinks and neutral colors, as well as, the overall design of the lipstick cases. Burt’s Bees really put a lot of thought and attention to detail in their new line of lipstick. Each shade looks fantastic and the packaging even matches the lipstick tubes!
Be sure to head to their website if you want to learn more about Burt’s Bees Lipstick and how its natural ingredients offer moisturizing coverage for your lips. It really is a lipstick that loves you back. Grab yours at Target before they are all gone! What new makeup trends/techniques do you recommend for the New Year?

Say what?! I need to try this. Lipstick scares me. I tried it once and lips were so flaky and gross for weeks after that.

I’m a Burt’s Bees lover, but didn’t know they had this new lipstick! I’m usually about moisture in a lipstick, but I like the addition of a bit of color. Adding it to my shopping list!
