First Birthday Planning

I can’t believe that our little lamby is turning ONE next week! This year has flown by and its hard to believe that we almost have a one year old. Brooke has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. We can’t wait to celebrate her birthday with family and friends. With the celebration, comes party planning. We knew from the start that we didn’t really want anything big for her first birthday. Just a small party with family and a few close friends, a little bit of food and balloons. Brooke loves balloons. From there, I headed to Pinterest to brainstorm a theme for the party. I pinned a lot of different party ideas and then narrowed it down to two different themes. I was completely stuck, then I saw these floral birthday party invitations above on Minted and my mind was made up. I knew I wanted to have a floral theme for the party. I also wanted to incorporate her nickname “lamby” into the invitations.

I just adore the way the invitations came out. Plus, keeping with our simple plan, all I had to do for the invitations was put in our party information, add the guests to our address book on Minted, then they printed all of the address (FOR FREE!) and return addresses. I also ordered custom stamps with Brooke on them because these were such a hit on our Christmas cards. Minted made the invitations super easy. They arrived quickly in the mail, then I just had to stuff them, seal them and put the stamp on them. It was the quickest invitation process ever! Not having to address every invitation made the process so much quicker and honestly, the printed addresses look so much better than my handwriting (& match the invitations!).

Next for planning, I started coming up with a few little decor ideas. I keep having to tell myself “simple” in my mind because its so easy to get carried away. We are just going to have a few little floral decor pieces, balloons and fresh flowers. Then, for food, I am going to keep it simple as well with little sandwiches and finger foods.
