Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Love!! I might be a slight emotional wreck today. I cannot believe that our little baby is ONE YEAR OLD!!! This month went by extremely fast. We went to Houston for a friends wedding, visited Kevin’s sister in Houston (& saw his other sister), went to see some of my family in Lake Jackson, and went home to see our parents all in one weekend. Brooke had a great visit with her aunts, cousins and my grandmother. The next weekend, my parents came to San Antonio for the weekend and we celebrated an early Easter. My parents bought Brooke the cutest little pink chair for outside and an easter basket full of goodies (my mom even used my first easter basket, it was special). We also worked outside in our flower beds and Brooke started to get more comfortable with getting her hands dirty. She even tried to eat a leaf (see the pic below).
The next weekend was our first “free” weekend that we had in a long time, but it quickly got filled with chores and things around the house that needed to get done. Brooke also had a high fever, so we couldn’t go to church on Easter, but we watched from home as a family. The next weekend we had another wedding, this time in Austin. Brooke stayed in a hotel room for the first time and up way past her bedtime. She did great all weekend. She constantly surprises me and exceeds my expectations.
Today, we are planning on celebrating with Brooke and taking her to the zoo for the first time! We are having her birthday this weekend with family and just a few friends. We decided to have a small get together and nothing too fancy for her first birthday. We just wanted something relaxing and fun at our house. We hope Brooke has a great time and I know we can’t wait to celebrate!

You must share more on the potty situation. As a mom of a 10-month-old girl, I cannot imagine potty training this early, but I’d certainly like to know more about your experience!
