11 Quick Mom Prayers

Real talk: Being a mom can be the toughest, yet most rewarding job of our lives. Some days are filled with laughter, playing and smiles, while others are filled with tantrums, tears and time out sessions. Some days I feel like I’m nailing this mom thing and others I have no clue what I’m doing. I have found myself yelling  things like “No, No…don’t eat that leaf”, I have lost my patience, I have felt defeated and I have been flat out wrong at times. I’m here to share with you that if you have felt these feelings too, you are not alone. I think we all have at some point in our motherhood journey. I have found on these tougher days, it helps me to combat my feelings of inadequacy with prayer. Here are 11 quick mom prayers for your day:

Grace

Lord, please grant me grace that only comes from you. I find myself feeling inadequate and constantly second guessing my parenting. Give me grace where I need it Lord and please help me extend grace to my children and my spouse. Amen.

Wisdom

God, give me your wisdom. I don’t always know the right answer as a parent. Sometimes, there just seems like no good answer or I feel overwhelmed. In those moments, give me wisdom. Help me make the best decision for our family. In your name I pray, Amen.

Patience

Lord, I confess that at times it is easy for me to loose patience. I get tired, I get down, and I just snap. Please help me become a more patience person and mom. When kids are constantly calling my name and there are piles of laundry to be done, give me peace. Amen.

Energy

Lord, between the errands, the chores, the kids, my marriage, my family, and my friends, I feel torn. I feel like I am constantly on the move and giving everything I have. Please give me energy for the day. I know that all life and breath comes from you. Please grant me what I need for today. Restore me, O Lord. Amen.

Creativity

God, comparison in parenting is hard. I see other moms that are more creative than me and I get discouraged. I wonder if I am doing enough. Please calm my mom heart and help me be content with me. Give me the ability I need to be creative for my kids learning. I know you have equipped me with what I need to parent my child. They are a gift from you. Help cultivate creativity in me. Amen.

Servant Heart

Lord, bless me with a servant heart and attitude. My desire is to serve my family well with heart of praise to you. It is such a joy and blessing to be able to do things for my family and I pray that I would always take the position of a servant. I pray that I would always feel grateful for the opportunity to use my strengths for our family. Amen.

Strength

God. Some days are hard. Today is hard. Give me strength. Give me physical strength, give me emotional strength. I need you. I desperately need your presence and your hand to hold me up. I confess that I cannot do it on my own. I need you. Please Lord, be with me today. Amen.

Joy

Lord, I know that true joy comes from you and being in your presence. I just ask for joy Lord. I ask for joy in my day displayed through laugher, kindness and appreciation. I also pray for joy through our trials. I know that joy isn’t solely based on things going my way, its based on my position with you. God, grant me a joyful heart in all times. Amen.

Marriage

Lord, I pray for my marriage. In the midst of everything going on in our lives, help us keep our relationship with you first and then our marriage second. Lord, I pray that we would be united in every way and decision. I pray for your protection over our marriage and that you would dwell so deeply in our lives that nothing could come between us. I pray for communication, love, affection, kindness, and most of all unity. In your name I pray, Amen.

Kindness

God, help me to be a kind person. I confess that at times I don’t always feel kind. At times, I want to be selfish. At times I want to do my own thing. Help me show others kindness. I want to display this attribute for my children and show them YOU through my actions Lord. Amen.

Finances

Lord, I pray for your wisdom and guidance over our finances. I submit them to you. I pray the we would use the resources you give us in a way that glorifies you. I pray the we would be good stewards over your blessing to us. I also specifically pray that you would help me as a wife use our resources well when shopping for our family and giving to others. Thank you for blessing us. Amen.

My prayer is that these simple little prayers would inspire and spark your conversation God. I like to keep sort of an open dialogue with God throughout the day and these are a few of the types of prayers I pray throughout the day. They help calm my soul.
