Brooke is getting to the age where she LOVES being outside. She wants to play all of the time and this stage is so much fun. However, it does have me constantly brainstorming different activities we can do together for fun. This ranges from outside play to imaginative play to me making “chores” fun. As Spring continues to roll in, we are finding ourselves outside more and more in the warm weather. We also started transitioning our wardrobe to all Spring fashion. This brings me to my list of 12 Spring Toddler Activities:
Clean Out The Closet
Yes, this can be a great Spring Toddler Activity! Everyone is in full swing for spring cleaning, so take advantage of the time to clean out your child’s closet. This can be a really fun activity if you let your toddler help you. Brooke loves making big piles and throwing around her clothes. She also tries to dress herself and put on her shoes. I love how at this age, even chores can be super fun and be great memories.
Go Spring Clothes Shopping
Now that you have cleaned out their closet, its time to fill it back up with spring kids fashion from Oshkosh B’gosh. Shopping is one of my favorite things to do and Brooke always loves a good stroller ride through the store. She even likes to pick out her own outfits and says “aww” or “so cute” as we pass items. Oshkosh has great kids style options for Spring that are interchangeable. Their shorts and tees are super comfortable and practical for these great spring activities. The even have adorable Easter outfit options! Plus, you can use the coupon code below (OKBG3270) to get 25% off your purchase of $40+ which makes all of their clothes VERY affordable.
Blow Bubbles
This is a favorite outside activity of ours. Brooke loves chasing after the bubbles and is so interested in how they work. She just asks me to do it over and over again. It is simple, fun and gets us outside. We have small bubbles and a big butterfly one that Brooke likes to carry around.
Play at a new park
Head to park for play time. I suggest a new park just to get out of your normal routine if you have one, however, kids love all parks, or even indoor ones on rainy days! This is always fun with friends too, so invite your mom friends and make a play date out of it.
Go on a nature walk
This could be a fun family activity after dinner. You can walk around and really point out different things in nature to your toddler. Let them tear leaves or pick flowers. Let them look at bugs or birds. We use this time to work on different words and really let Brooke explore. It is such a fun time. Sometimes we let her walk and sometimes we use a stroller depending on her mood.
Sidewalk Chalk
This can be a great learning activity for your toddler. We like to work on colors recognition with chalk and also shapes. You can play games like jump on the dots or follow the line. There are so many endless possibilities with chalk. Even just letting them have at it is so much fun.
Paint Outside
Another great creative expression is outside painting time. I do recommend old clothes for this that you don’t mind getting dirty so you can let them really have fun with it. Set up a safe place with a mat of some kind and washable paints and let them have a blast.
Plant a flower
This is a great sensory activity. You can plant a flower, vegetables or herbs. Let your toddler play in the dirt and use their hands to explore. Then, you can watch it grow together throughout the season.
Easter Egg Hunt
There are so many great Easter Egg Hunts going on this time of year. Plan a fun family morning at your local egg hunt or even create your own. You can do this over and over in your backyard or living room!
Visit the zoo
Going to the zoo is a favorite of ours for Spring. Its not too hot yet and Brooke loves looking at all of the animals. It is a great family activity. I like to go in the morning time before nap so its not as warm or crowded.
Clean the car
Yes, here is another “chore” turned fun activity. Let your toddler help you clean your car. They will love playing in the water and helping wash off the dirt. This can get messy too, so break out those swim suits.
Head to the pool
Like I said, break out those swim suits. Head to the pool!!! We live in Texas so its very much pool weather already here most days. Your toddler will love splashing through the water, even if its slightly chilly.
Remember, OshKosh has all your kids style needs for fun Spring activities. Be sure to check out them out and use the awesome promo code! Oh, and OshKosh will be doing two giveaways during the spring season.
