Oh month 5, you were a busy one! As if our life hasn’t been busy enough, Kevin officially started teaching and we were just getting into a new routine when Hurricane Harvey made its ugly debut. While it was nice having Kevin off of work for a week, it was very stressful and horrible circumstances. We feel extremely blessed that overall our family received minor damages to their properties (a large leak, one full house flood, two roof leaks, and a sink hole). So many people experienced so much devastation and our hearts have been extremely heavy for all of the cities involved. We had visitors that week due to the storm so our house was pretty full but it was nice to be with family. Also, my dad had shoulder replacement surgery, so we have been spending a lot of time at my parent house helping out and just hanging out.
Baby Kevin is still in a fussy stage. He seriously is either smiling or crying. Its so crazy, there is no in-between. We decided to put together his activity center just to try something new and he has LOVED IT!! I think all of his crying has been a symptom of wanting to play more and teething. He loves being able to stand up now and play with toys. And, his first tooth has made its appearance. Here we come teething phase (not looking forward to it). He still likes rolling over a bunch and is starting to really play with toys. He intently grabs things, passes toys back and forth in his hands and likes to sit up with assistance. He also started eating baby food last week and has had a few different things like green beans, squash and banana.
Brooke is still obsessed with him! She wants to play with him all the time and loves to give him kisses. I can’t wait to see how excited she is when he starts sitting up by himself and even crawling around. She is going to freak out.
My favorite baby product of the month is our Skip Hop 3 Stage Activity Center. Baby Kevin loves standing in it to play. We even took it to my parents house last week and he played in it on the back porch while we hung out outside. It has brought some peace to our fussy baby for sure. Plus, as a mom, I love that all the parts are plastic and very easy to snap off and wash! This activity center is a MUST BUY for sure!!
