We already almost done with the first week of December and I can’t believe how fast it is going. If you are anything like us, then your calendar just magically filled up for the rest of the year. There are shopping days, light festivals, movie nights and christmas parties galore. Our Christmas party will look a little different this year because we aren’t in our house yet. It will also have different guests since we moved, but while certain things change, some remain the same. Are you throwing a party this season? Here are my top 5 holiday party tips and a fun drink recipe with Milo’s Tea:
Invite Early
As I mentioned above, calendars fill up fast, especially during Holiday months, so be sure to invite your guests as early as possible. Send out a quick save the date email or text and then follow up with a formal invite later down the road. By letting your guests know you are planning a party early, you can ensure a great turnout.
Be Festive
Get in the Holiday spirit! Bust out all of your decorations or come up with a theme for the party. People love getting involved in the “merry” festivities. Think winter wonderland, snowman, barnyard christmas, vintage christmas, classic christmas, you name it! There are so many great themes to embody in your party. This will help give you direction for the activities at your party and the menu.
Easy Menu
Yes, I said menu! While having great food is a staple at party, you want to keep it easy. Too many food options can be overwhelming and time consuming. Keep it simple. Choose a few appetizers, main dishes and desserts. Don’t make it thanksgiving, tone it down.
Fun Drink
Don’t forget the drinks! Again, think about your “theme”. You want a fun drink option that gets people in a festive mood. Since the weather tends to be on the warmer side here in Texas, I thought I would share a “cooler” drink option that is still festive – Cranberry Apple Iced Tea.
I start with Milo’s Tea because it is fresh brewed and features natural ingredients with no preservatives or added acids.Milo’s Tea Company is a family owned, certified woman owned business located in Bessemer, AL. Milo’s philosophy was simple – use high quality, fresh, natural ingredients, listen to your customers and never sacrifice taste. In 1989, Milo’s began selling their fresh brewed Famous Sweet Tea to local Birmingham grocery stores and now Milo’s beverages can be found in thousands of retailers across the United States. I found Milo’s at my local Kroger in the refrigerated juice and dairy section but they are available at lots of retailers. Find a store near you by using thestore locator.
It is available in sweetened with pure cane sugar, no calorie and unsweet options, as well as lemonade, and a tea and lemonade mix. I used the sweetened product for my recipe. The other ingredients you need are apple juice, cranberry juice, apples, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks. For every 4 cups of tea, use 1 cup of cranberry juice and 1 cup of apple juice. Cut apples into slices and place in juice mixture along with cranberries and top with cinnamon sticks. Serve chilled with ice and enjoy! Milo’s Tea is THE beverage for holiday meal entertaining and get-togethers.
Play A Game
Another great staple of a party is a fun game. You might be thinking that you aren’t “game” people, but think of some activity. Maybe it’s an ugly sweater contest, a white elephant gift exchange, or an ornament exchange. You can even make ginger bread houses by couples or other fun baking games. The possibilities are endless!
