I’ve completed two baby registries in my lifetime, but helped countless friends and family create their own, not mention thousands of expecting mamas through Simply Clarke. I remember the anxiousness of standing in the store with the registry gun having no clue what I was doing. I have written numerous posts about the best baby registry, my top baby items and so many more on individual items. I even have a shop tab at the top with my favorite baby items. However, when I’m asked, The one item you need on your baby registry is Pampers DIAPERS!
Did you know that 9 in 10 moms wish they would have included more diapers on their registry? Honestly, when pregnant with Brooke, we put one box of each size on our registry, because we had no idea how many we needed. We sat in our baby room after our last baby shower with one box of diapers. We felt so unprepared.
I tell you this to help prepare you! Babies grow quickly and so do their sizes. 40 % of moms didn’t include enough diapers in diapers in different sizes on their registry and I was one of those mamas. While I know every baby is different, here is what I recommend for quantities:
Preemie: Buy As Needed (we had two little babies so we needed these!)
Newborn: We averaged 9 diapers a day at this stage. 63 diapers a week. 2 month supply needed.
Size 1: We averaged 6-9 diapers a day at this stage. 63 diapers a week. 3 – 4 month supply needed.
Size 2: We averaged 6 diapers a day at this stage. 42 diapers a week. 5-6 month supply needed.
Size 3: We averaged 4-6 diapers a day at this stage. 42 diapers a week. 5-6 month supply needed.
This many diapers should get you through the first year and a 1/2 with your baby, which is HUGE! Diapers are such a hot commodity and always needed. Baby Kevin is currently a year old and in size 3 for reference. I have some friends who have gone to size 4 in the first year, but Baby Kevin is in average percentiles so this should be a good base for the “average”.
