7 days. 7 days in a week. 7 prayers for a better marriage. 7 prayers for YOUR marriage.
I pray that I would seek You First.
Lord,
You alone are mighty, You alone are good. You alone are perfect. I know that everything in my life falls into place when I seek You. That may not mean that everything is perfect, but it does mean that I feel Your peace. I feel Your presence. Lord, may I seek You first. May Your Word fill my life and my lips. May I have a desire for You and Your Word. Lord, where I am stagnate, light my soul on fire. Where I struggle, make me new. Lord, the desire of my heart is to do Your will. I love You Lord. I give my life to you. AMEN.
Prayer of thanks for my spouse.
God, You have given me a perfect gift and I am so extremely thankful. Lord, I confess that more times than not, I don’t see my spouse as a gift. I confess that I am selfish. I have my own wants and my own needs and I get easily upset when those are not being met. I am full of flaws. Thank you for sending my spouse to love me. Thank you for sending my spouse to show me grace. Thank you for sending my spouse to show me a picture of Your love. We seek for our marriage to be a picture of Your love and we thank you. Thank you for the wonderful gift of my spouse and may I treat them like Christmas morning each day. AMEN.
Prayer for Unconditional Love.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for loving us unconditionally. We have done nothing to deserve Your love, yet You sent Your only Son to die for us so that we might live with You forever. You gave us the perfect example of unconditional love. We acknowledge that we are inherently selfish and ask that you would help us love others without conditions. We ask for patience, knowledge and persistence when it becomes hard to love. Teach us, mold us, shape us in Your love so that we might glean from you how to love others like You love us. AMEN.
I pray that I would be a good Listener.
Lord, in Your Word it says that you hear our prayers. You care deeply for each one of us and Your creation. You know the number of stars and You count them by name. You care, You Listen, You Love. Lord, help me listen and communicate effectively with my spouse. I admit that at times, I don’t want to listen. I just want my way. Change my heart. Give me a listening ear and a care for others that exemplifies you. Help me to see a need and fulfill it without words. Help me to have eyes like You O’Lord that hear, even when nothing is spoken. Help me a be a good listener. In Your name I pray, AMEN.
May I be Quick To Forgive.
Lord, you are so so kind to me. All day long You hold out Your hand to disobedient and contrary people. Yet, Your love for us is so immense. so immeasurable. so divine. Your grace is fast and Your forgiveness is deep. Lord, may I be quick to forgive. May I be slow to become angry. May I have a forgiving heart toward my spouse. May I seek reconciliation in all things. Your desire for our marriage is to craft us into Your image, not to break us. Your desire is to make us holy, not poke holes. YOU ARE FOR OUR MARRIAGE. Help us be patient, help us forgive, help us heal. In Your name I pray, AMEN.
I pray for GRACE to be overwhelming in our marriage.
Dear Lord,
You are good. You are the perfect example of grace. You sent Your Son to die for us when we did nothing to deserve it. You constantly extend that same grace in our disobedience. Lord, help me to show my husband grace that only comes from you. Take away my propensity to feel unloved, devalued, and unappreciated when my husband doesn’t live up to expectations I have placed on him instead of looking to You. I am not perfect, neither is he. We both will let each other down at times, but my prayer is that we would extend grace to each other rooted in love. Teach me how to show him grace and live a life filled with Your Grace. Amen.
Lord, transform us into your Image.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for loving me. I am so underserving, yet YOU pursue me daily. Your grace abounds and I pray that it would outwardly flow from me. Thank you for blessing me with my husband and trusting us with Your covenant of marriage. You have given us the opportunity to share Your love through our marriage. Loving can be hard at times; we are sinful, impatient, stubborn, selfish and unforgiving. But, God, my prayer is that You would help us love each other like You love us, perfectly. Teach me how to be a Godly wife. I pray that we would always lean on each others strengths, and forgive each others weaknesses. Lord, give me a heart running towards You. I know that true, unconditional love is only built by You. I pray for wisdom in our marriage and guidance so that we would follow Your will for lives. Thank you for my husband, thank you for marriage. Amen.
My prayer is that each of these prayers would truly bless your marriage. Honestly, they are an outpouring of hear to the Lord about my marriage and all marriages. May you feel His presence. May you feel His peace. May you feel His love and may it transform Your MARRIAGE!
