I AM SO a morning person. I love the feeling of being productive in the morning and starting my day off on the right foot. However, my kids bring in a whole different factor. I love them to pieces, but they are the most inefficient little things on the planet. I mean this morning I think I put Brooke’s shoes on three times before we even left the house all while Baby Kevin was unrolling a thing of toilet paper. I love to start each day with a clear slate. I wake up and the first thing I do is roll over and check my messages. My inbox easily piles up throughout the night and day, so I like to start by reading all of messages, filing them appropriately, and answering a few if I can. I also go through each of my social media outlets, check those messages and clear ones that I can clear. By starting the day with an empty inbox, it sets me up for a clean slate.
Make Your Day BOLD

Plan Your Day
After my coffee and oftentimes, during my coffee, I plan out my day in my planner. I am a paper planner person big time. I plan out each day, have a checklist and set goals for the day. I try to be realistic for my goals and think about how much time each task will take. By planning out my day on paper, it helps me stay organized and not miss any deadlines I may have. This part of my day is also just a piece of happiness for my Type A loving self.
Bring the Fun
Next, I like to bring the fun because life shouldn’t be boring. I like to start the day with a fun playlist of my favorite songs. I have three different playlists depending on my mood and I love having them going in the background as I start the day. I even leave these on into the mornings sometimes because I find my crazy kids love to listen to music and it puts them in a good mood too! Morning dance party anyone?
Find What Works For You
Finally, find what works for you! You might need a few minutes to yourself with technology, just a nice hot cup of 1850 coffee. Or, you might like to start your day off reading or journaling. Find what inspires you and make time for it! While waking up before my kids isn’t always fun, it sets me up for success. The extra hour by myself to do these things makes my day so much better!
