Dear Mom Overwhelmed with Milestones…
I’ve been there. I’ve stood over my preemie baby and cherished each ounce of milk she was drinking. I’ve sat in the doctor’s chair and looked over growth charts with small percentages and felt like I wasn’t doing enough. I’ve seen other babies walking at nine months and begged for my baby to crawl at a year. I have researched countless products, meal ideas, activities and even Enfagrow® Toddler Next Step™. If it is related to babies and toddlers – you name it, I’ve googled it. Mom worry, and mom guilt are so real, raw and just plain overwhelming. You are not alone.
Baby Kevin started out small on the growth chart for weight and has gradually trended up each month. However, at around nine months, he began to refuse nursing and formula. We tried everything! We tried different bottles, different temperatures, different brands…. he was done. In those moments, I felt so much worry about him getting the proper nutrition he needed. We visited with our pediatrician who assured me he was perfectly fine and healthy.
Fast forward a few months to now, he still doesn’t enjoy regular milk as much as his sister did, but we have found that he really enjoys Enfagrow Toddler. Enfagrow is a milk-based toddler drink tailored for toddlers 1-3 years that has DHA and complements their diet to help ensure good nutrition for their changing needs and tastes. Enfagrow Toddler has prebiotics designed to help support the immune system and other important nutrients that toddlers may not get enough of. On average, a toddler’s diet only provides 25% of the recommended amount of DHA, leaving a nutrition gap. (The main source for DHA is fish and most toddlers do not like to eat fish. Toddler favorites like cereal, cheese, bananas, regular milk, chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, carrot sticks and fruit puree all have 0 mg of DHA.) DHA is an important building block of the growing brain and experts recommend that toddlers have 70-100 mg/day of DHA to support early brain and eye development.
Enfagrow Toddler gives me the relief I need about his nutrition and he LOVES the taste. It’s a win for both of us. Plus, it comes in a convenient 32 oz. liquid bottle and a 32 oz. powder can. You can even request a free sample at Enfagrow.com.
This is just a small example of going through a child’s milestone and the mom worry that comes with them at times. Going through the infant and now toddler stage for the second time has taught me that each milestone brings different fears and different worries. Every child is different, and you were uniquely gifted to be their parent. Trust your instinct, consult with your doctor, and breathe mama. You are doing a great job!
