Yes. That simple Sunday school answer for each question. Jesus. Just Jesus. And, lots of prayer. But, the truth is, the answer isn’t that simple. Life is complicated. Marriage is complicated. We are two completely different people, living under one roof. Life isn’t always easy But God…
… shows us what grace truly is.
… teaches us sacrifice.
… and shows us what it means to love unconditionally.
There have been seasons in my life where I have tried to carry the burden of being a perfect wife. I have tried to be kind, loving, patient – you know all things that love is suppose to be…but I have found that without Christ, I am selfish. I am stubborn. I can be moody. I’m so imperfect. But, in those moments, I have seen my spouse show me grace… I see Jesus and I see him transforming our marriage.
Watching God transform your marriage through his power, while learning more about him and seeking him is breathtaking. Painful at times, joyous at times. But He is working. He moves in our hearts to transform us into His likeness. And we battle. Sometimes we win, sometimes we fall. But, its in BOTH of those moments we see what our marriage is made of – in the pit and in the palace. We see how far our love goes, how vast our grace is and how big our God is.
He can change any heart. Heal any marriage. Mend any break. He is all powerful. All knowing. All loving and full of grace. He loves you dearly. He is FOR you. He is FOR your marriage. Dig in deep, seek Him and pray. Pray. Pray. Pray.
