We’ve seen it, the circles under the eyes, the unshaved face, the yawns, the look of pure exhaustion – the look of new parents. Entering the stage of parenthood and babyhood is so joyous, fun and exciting. However, it is also overwhelming and flat out exhausting. You feel prepared one minute and unprepared the next. Its a roller coaster and really there isn’t a set guidebook. From pacifiers, to sleepless nights, to VTech Baby monitors, the questions are endless. But, I can give you my best Tips You Need To Survive Babyhood:
Stock Up On Caffeine
Because you will need it! I always say that one of my favorite gifts for me as new mom was gift cards for coffee. With late night feedings and all that comes with a new baby, sleep is often put on the back burner. Caffeine just gives you an extra pep in your step and is much needed. You need your caffeine to survive that first year.
Sense of Humor
If you can’t tell, while I want this post to be informative, it is also very lighthearted. You need a sense a humor though babyhood. When you are changing a blow out diaper – you need laughter (and to plug your nose). When your new crawler thinks playing with the plunger is a good idea – you need humor. When your baby starts walking everywhere and testing their limits with you – you need humor. Remember, they are only this little once, soak it up, smile and laugh often.
VTech Monitor

Then, as our kids have gotten older, we love using the two-way, talk back intercom (I tell Brooke to get back in bed during nap time without having to leave the living room). Its a big win!
Wipes
Lots and lots of wipes. Wipes for diapers. Wipes for spit up. Wipes for snack time messes and everything in between. You really can’t have enough wipes. Stock up and always keep them on hand. I carry a small pack in purse along with the diaper bag because you just never know with kids!

Babyhood happens so fast, in the blink of an eye your little sleeping baby goes from smiling to laughing to sitting up to crawling to walking to running.
