Our Baby Monitor has probably been our MOST USED baby item and looking back, I wish I would have known more about the great features on the market. We have used our baby monitors every day since Brooke was born and she is now 3 1/2. We have one in her room, one in her brothers room, and will have one in our new playroom once our house is done being built. I LOVE monitors. As a new mom, they helped me be able to calm my anxiety and sleep through the night. As a toddler mom, they help me keep an eye on nap time and what is going on in their rooms.
Today, I wanted to share about the new Summer Infant Baby Pixel Cadet. It offers features like the SleepZone technology, night vision, remote control features, 2 way talk back and the ability to grow. Lets talk about the ins and outs of the monitor.
Innovative Technology
Voice-activated technology – The Baby Cadet alerts you when your baby starts to make sounds associated with waking hours. The camera simply alerts the monitor to wake up, because there might be a baby waking up. If there are 30 seconds without these sounds, the monitor will go into power-saver mode. This saves you time and peace of mind, because you don’t have to check the monitor every three seconds to see if your baby is waking up. It does the work for you.
SleepZone technology – Now, this is really cool in certain situations. You can set a perimeter around the sleeping space that your baby would normally occupy. Then, the monitor will alert you when your baby moves out of this boundary. This is a great “newborn” feature to have so don’t have to worry about them accidentally rolling over or getting too close to the rails.
Temperature – I’m not sure if you would typically quantify this as technology, but your monitor also shows the temperature of your child’s room. I find this incredibly helpful, so I can make sure they aren’t too hot or too cold.
Night Vision
This is pretty self explanatory, however, not all night visions are created equally. The Summer Infant Baby Pixel Cadet comes with night vision that allows you clear vision at any time of day automatically.
Remote Control Features
Camera movement is extremely important to me. I like to be able to follow my kids around the room without being there. This camera has remote steering, so you can view your child’s entire room on the monitor. You can pan the camera to the left, to the right, up, and down. With a three-level zoom, the camera lets you get as close to your kids as you want.
2 Way Talk Back
This is one of the features I LOVE for a toddler room. You can communicate back to your child. We use this feature A TON! I can easily tell Brooke to get back in bed or stop playing, or to close her eyes without even having to get up. Its such an important feature! The Summer Infant Baby Pixel Cadet Monitor will also play white noise or lullabies.
Grows With Your Family
You might just skip over this feature and that would be a BIG mistake if you have more than one kid or are thinking about having more than one kid. The Summer Infant Baby Pixel Cadet 4.3-inch Color Video Monitor is fabulous for growing families! You can add up to four cameras in multiple rooms that all go to the same monitor. It allows you to flip between cameras to keep an eye on all of the rooms from one monitor.
I love this feature, because this makes it so much more than just a simple baby monitor. As a mom that works from home, I love the idea of being in the living room or kitchen while working and being able to see my my kids in the playroom, or my little man napping in his crib while his sister plays in her room.
