Growing up in our house, I of course like any kid, couldn’t wait for Christmas morning. I loved seeing if Santa took that last bite of cookie or if he drank all of his milk. There was just always so much excitement in the air. I also LOVED seeing what was in my stocking. There was something about little treasures that fit in a small stocking that excited me. Fast forward to my adult life and stockings are still my FAVORITE. I love all of the thought and the detail that goes into them. It takes a lot of creativity to find great items that fit in the “boots” as Baby Kevin likes to call them.
I have been gathering last minute gifts this week and putting final touches our kids stockings, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my best stockings ideas so far for this year from buybuy BABY. I got a lot of these ideas while simply walking around the store, but then ended up ordering them online later. buybuy BABY has free shipping if you spend over $39 (which I do EVERY time!) so its so convenient. Here are my top toddler stocking stuffer ideas of 2018:
Books
I always like to include a book in my kids stocking. Both of my kids love reading so they enjoy getting new books to add to their collection. I learned quickly though that books can be a hard “fit” in the stocking, so make sure its slender one!
Bath Toys
This year bath toys were on the top of my list because the kids really like to play in the bath and I feel like we don’t have many toys. They typically just play with cups and splash around. I really liked the submarine bath toy and monster truck squirties! We actually have a few squirties that our kids like to play with so I thought these would be cool for Little Kev.
Coloring
Our kids also love coloring, especially Brooke. I try to keep at least one of these magic ink activity books in our bag at all times for when we are traveling or eating dinner out. These make our stocking list big time! Chalk is also another great idea. Brooke got some last year and has really enjoyed it.
Cars
Well, this is really more of a toddler boy idea but Brooke LOVES the Minnie one in this set! Toy cars are a winner every time.
Finger Puppets
Again, I can’t take credit for this idea. Brooke’s first christmas she was given a finger puppet and I just remember what a great idea it was. My kids still think its so funny so I think they will really like more.
Socks
Something practical is great too! You can even grab some with their favorite character on them to spice it up a little bit. I like giving Brooke hair bows too!
Utensils
Our kids really enjoy eating with fun character utensils. They like picking out which one they will use at breakfast and dinner. It makes meal time a little more fun so in the stocking they go. Cars for him, Princess for her.
Cup
While we are talking about the kitchen. New cups are a great practical idea as well. We are always going through cups or losing one so this is a dual purpose gift.
Stuffed Animal
Do they really need one more stuffed animal? YESSSSS. Buy all the stuffed animals, they will love it every time.
Hopefully this list gave you a few good ideas for your toddler’s stocking or sparked some ideas of your own. I would love to hear more. Comment below with your favorite toddler stocking idea!
