This month has been a whirlwind! It seems like we just brought the little man home from the hospital and now we are celebrating one month with him. In some ways, we are still adjusting to being a family of four, and in other ways, it feels like he has been in our family for a long time. Kev Kev was born March 15th and if you haven’t read his birth story, be sure to head over and read part 1 and part 2. Kev Kev had to be in the NICU from early Thursday morning until Friday afternoon because of TTN, then he got to room in with us and we were released from the hospital on Saturday.
It was so nice to be home. My parents ended up staying with us for a few days, then Kevin’s mom came back and stayed with us for a week. After that, we had two days by ourselves, then my parents came to San Antonio for a long weekend. For the majority of the time, we were running to doctor visits, or just hanging out at home. By this time we started to get in a routine a little more and we had our first week alone at week 3, then we headed home to our parents house for the weekend.
We decided to have Brooke’s birthday party at our parents house this year, so that our family wouldn’t have to travel so far. It turned out great! I was slightly nervous about traveling with two babes, but it really went smooth. After the party, Kevin’s sister who is in town from Ohio, came back with us to visit for a few days! It has been a busy month of family time!
The majority of the time, I call him Brother, or Kev Kev. Brooke has adjusted VERY well, she LOVES her brother so much. She is a little mama and loves to help. She gives him about 30 kisses a day, gives him his pacifier and covers him with his blanket. At first, we really had to “protect” him from her love, but now, she is way more gentle with him.
Brother is doing great! He sleeps a lot still, but eats every three hours during the day. At night, he is sleeping about 5-6 hours, which is fantastic. I will be sharing more about our secret for this soon! He is wearing newborn size clothes still and LOVES cuddling.
He also loves his 4moms MamaRoo and BounceRoo. We have one upstairs and one downstairs, which works perfectly! The MamaRoo is stationary, but I love that the BounceRoo is so light and I can move it around. It is perfect to lay him in while I shower or when I’m playing with Brooke. It is so convenient and he just loves it. This is a must have item if you are a new parent. It has three vibrations modes: heartbeat, bee and wave. Brother loves the bee setting the best and Sister loves pushing all the buttons. Because we LOVE it so much, I have teamed up with 4moms to GIVEAWAY a BounceRoo! Head over to my instagram to enter to WIN!
