If you have been following along our summer, you know that we have had a lot of fun, family adventures and we decided to finish off the summer with a family day trip to the best destination in North Texas, Six Flags Over Texas! When I received the opportunity to partner with Six Flags Over Texas for this post, I was beyond excited because they have always held a special place in our heart. When living in San Antonio, we often visited the park there and it was a big part of our dating and early married life. We knew that introducing the thrill of Six Flags Over Texas to our kids was going to be amazing.
We started getting Brooke excited by showing her pictures and videos of the park in the days leading up to our trip. We set a game plan for the day and decided to bring a single stroller for Little Kevin. We arrived at the park about an hour after it opened. In our experience, arriving a little bit after it opens helps you avoid traffic and lines entering the park. When we arrived at Six Flags Over Texas, parking was a breeze and we had an easy walk into the park and with no lines.
Brooke and Little Kevin were so excited seeing the park for the first time and they immediately wanted to get on a ride. We started them off in Bugs Bunny BoomTown on a train ride and they were both hooked! They had the best time, and we headed off for Brooke’s first coaster. She immediately wanted to ride again and just couldn’t contain her excitement.
From water rides to roller coasters, both kids rode everything they were tall enough to ride and got upset when they were too short. It was so fun to see how much they loved the whole experience. At the peak of our day, I got on the Titan ride, which as a huge drop and goes over 80mph – well, Brooke was so upset she couldn’t get on with me. That is how much she LOVED the thrill. And, on the log water ride, El Aserradero, Little Kevin said “no, no, no, no, no” as we were getting off. He just wanted to keep riding.
Needless to say, the day was a huge success! Six Flags Over Texas was fun for the whole family no matter their level of thrill! It is seriously the coolest place in North Texas (Brooke would tell you hands down!). And, it wouldn’t be complete without great park food. My kids are big foodies and not only was it a great value for our money, but the kids enjoyed chicken strips for lunch and a delicious pizza for dinner.
Plus, we highly recommend their refillable bottles. The fun straw kept Little Kevin entertained and hydrated all day long. Seriously, he carried this around and sipped on it all day!
Six Flags Over Texas is not-to-be-missed! This theme park has the ultimate thrills and even a great new ride. We got to see the NEW Harley Quinn Spinsanity ride on the second day it opened. It looked so amazingly awesome. So, if you are looking for a great fun, family day trip in Texas, head to Six Flags Over Texas!
