I have loved to see how Simply Clarke has evolved as our family has grown. Talking about kid and baby products is one of my favorite things to do. You hear me say it a lot, but I just felt so overwhelmed when we had our first child. There is so much to learn, so many products on the market, and it is just flat out overwhelming. Just last week, a friend of mine was on Instagram asking for recommendations for her child’s cold symptoms. It is all around us. As moms, we don’t always have all the answers, so we seek other mom’s advice and google. I can’t tell you how many articles I have read relating to parenting or baby products. So, I love being able to share my honest tips, tricks and favorite products.
So, lets talk Essential Oils for Kids. I am a newbie to essentials oils. I was first introduced to them several years ago, and my roommate in college loved them, but it wasn’t until the past 8 or so months that I have been re-introduced to them through family members. Turns out, A LOT of people like to use essential oils for their families. The problem I quickly learned is that not all oils are really kid-safe. In reality, some shouldn’t be used under age 2, some until age 6, and some not until age 10!
It can be really confusing and you can find a lot of differing opinions. My initial thoughts were, essential oils are natural, surely all of them are safe? But, I have learned this is not the case. Then, once you find out what is safe, you have to use a certain number of drops, in certain carrier oils and on top of that, there are different methods that can be used with essential oils. Then you add in blending to create powerhouse synergy blends and you can totally confuse yourself!
Well, I have learned that essential oils are strong… concentrated plant chemicals, and they should be used with care. By no means am I an expert or an aromatherapist, but through reading reliable sources, I have found some great information.
For example, I recently came across a newer line of essential oils from Plant Therapy called KidSafe Synergies. This caught my attention because they are safe for kids and developed by a world-renowned aromatherapist, Robert Tisserand. Their lineup has 20 synergies that contain 100% pure and undiluted essential oils. They also have 20 pre-diluted roll-on synergies too!
They have this great starter set of 6 Kidsafe Synergies that are specifically formulated for children ages 2-10. The set I received include the following synergies:
- A+ Attention – Help your child stay on task by focusing on what’s in front of them. Whether they struggle with focusing at school or they suffer from.
- Calming The Child – A delight for little ones and adults. Calming The Child was created to help promote a calming.
- Germ Destroyer – Gentle on children but is strong on bacteria and viruses. It can protect you and your little ones from getting sick.
- Immune Boom – Perfect choice to keep your child healthy. To help build your child’s immune system, diffuse a few drops of Immune.
- Nighty Night – Does your child have trouble calming down at night and falling sleep? Nighty Night can help your child fall asleep more quickly and stay.
- Sniffle Stopper – Will clear up congestion in your little one and help them recover more quickly from that awful cold.
With these Kidsafe Synergies you can choose to use them in a variety of ways. You can add about 5-10 drops of these oils to a personal aromatherapy inhaler, mix with with your favorite carrier oil or you can apply them topically to your child’s chest, back of their neck or their wrist.
So, if you are looking for a great KidSafe option for essential oils. Plant Therapy KidSafe Synergies are a great option, especially for back to school! Think “Calming The Child” for back to school jitters, “Germ Destroyer” for after being at school all day, “Sniffle Stopper” for when the cold sets in, “Immune Boom” to try to kick it, and “Night Night” for an easy night sleep! This set is so great to hit all your preschool and big kid school needs. You can rest easy knowing you are using them correctly and that the blends are safe for your little one too!
