As summer approaches, I know we will be doing a lot of hosting. There is just something about summer that makes us want to invite people over for backyard bbq’s, movie nights and game nights. We love hosting friends and family for game nights—let’s just say we are a competitive family. But with hosting comes different tasks and responsibilities that can be extremely overwhelming if you don’t typically host game nights at your house, so I’m sharing my 5 Essentials for Hosting Game Night.
Plan
First things first, you need a plan! This includes everything from inviting guests to making sure you have Butterfinger Minis in your pantry for snacking. I start my planning by crafting a guest list, then of course inviting them. After this, I create a loose schedule for the night of what we will be doing. Then, I make my shopping list for any snacks or dinner that I will be making. I suggest going simple for game night. You aren’t hosting a fancy dinner, you are hosting game night. You don’t want to spend all night in the kitchen. Stick to fun, simple snacks that your guests can enjoy while playing—like the delicious, crispy Butterfinger Minis. Perfect for a mid-game bite!
Prep
Next, it is time to prep. I like to get out all the games we will be playing and make sure we aren’t missing any pieces we may need. As for food, I typically place an order online for what I need, then use order pick-up at our local grocer. The hard part for me is staying out of the yummy snacks until guests arrive. The new Butterfinger Minis deliver a one-of-a-kind crispety, crunchety texture and chocolatey, peanut-buttery taste. This improved recipe is focused on enhancing the QUALITY of the bar. It has an improved texture that isn’t as hard, as well as new packaging material to lock in freshness and flavor. They are seriously so good!
Set Up
Once you have everything you need, it is time to set up. The goal is make your guests feel at home. I like to light a candle, play light music in the background and have snacks all laid out. I also make sure we have different drink options available for guests. I set out the game we will be playing, or a few game options if we haven’t already nailed down a certain game.
Have Fun
Next, kick back, relax and have fun! Be sure to be in the moment and enjoy your guests. It’s time to get competitive, have a great time and of course, enjoy your yummy Butterfinger Mini snacks!
Back Up Plan
You might be thinking, what else is there after having fun? Why do I need a back-up plan? Well, like I said, we are a competitive family, so if things get too intense, you might need a back-up plan of a movie night to ease things over. Also, we sometimes put a movie favorite on in the background anyways so that our guests can enjoy both at once. Its always good to have a back up!
I hope these tips help you have a great night with your friends and family. And, be sure to try the Butterfinger Mono Minis at your next hosting event! They are a crowd pleaser big time! What is your favorite game to play at game night?
