Let’s be real, post pregnancy cravings are a struggle. I feel like I have more cravings not pregnant than pregnant and breastfeeding is no joke. I feel like I am constantly hungry, however, I want to say bye-bye to my baby weight, so I am trying to watch my calorie intake as much as possible. But lets face it, I love candy. Insert M&M’S® Crispy here.
They are amazing.
They only have 180 calories.
They are the perfect sweet snack option.
The end.
I’m kidding, not the end, but you get the point, I’m in love. M&M’S® Crispy are back by popular demand and returned to shelves nationwide this past January for the first time since 2005. They are made of rich milk chocolate, have a sweet rice puff center that’s crispy and crunchy and coated in the world-famous candy shell. I have been paring them with my favorite soda or water for an afternoon snack. It is so nice to take a break from work, sit outside, have a cold drink and snack on M&M’S® Crispy on a Summer day. It really helps me feel refreshed and then I can go back into work inspired and my belly won’t disturb my co-workers by making noises.
Besides eating snacks with fewer calories, here are 3 things I am doing to combat post pregnancy cravings:
1. Eating a good breakfast.
Eating a good breakfast helps me start my day off right. If I eat a good healthy breakfast, I am normally not hungry until lunch time. However, on the days where I skip breakfast or eat a bar of some kind, I get hungry for a snack around 10am and end up eating junk food or just more food than if I would have had a good breakfast.
2. Working out
Get in a workout routine to combat those cravings. I tend to do at-home workouts after Brooke goes to bed. I am more of a “night” work out person, so that time works best for me. Plus, I always feel better knowing I put in effort for the day.
3. Drinking plenty of water
Water is good for you and guess what? It has zero calories. Skip the extra coffee (I know that might be crazy as a new mom), but it is loaded with calories. On top of that, water helps you feel better as well and not as bloated as other drinks.
Hopefully the tips I use help with your post-pregnancy cravings and remember to snack smart!

Haha, yes. I thought all breakfast foods sounded yummy while I was pregnant but post pregnancy/while I was breastfeeding I felt like I needed a hamburger and a milkshake daily… it was awful!!
