We all know that while Back to school is an exciting busy time, it comes with its downfall of germs. I have always loved the new routines of back to school, the school supply shopping and the sports. And now, as a mom, I know I have to proactively plan to guard our family against germs and illness. This school year, I came up with an active plan to stock up on items that help our family better and keep germs at bay as much as possible. Here are a few things I did for Back To School Prep that really paid off so far:
Cleaning Schedule
We have a cleaning schedule that helps us keep our house clean and germ free. With a busy babe running around, it can be extremely hard to keep things clean, especially your floors, but it is so important to their health to keep it up as much as possible. Plus, we have always been “clean freak” type people and love a clean house.
Stock Up On Essentials
I headed to Walmart and picked up a few essentials like Advil® Liquid-Gels® because “Nothing’s faster on tough pain*” (*Among OTC pain relievers. Use as directed.). We all love liquid gels in our house and they were much needed. I also picked up on the go items like Chapstick® because it “Moisturizes & softens for smooth lips everyday”.
Laundry Plan
We also have a laundry day where we get all of our laundry done. This includes a schedule for when we wash our sheets, all of Brooke’s blankets and even stuffed animals. I really believe washing your sheets often makes a big difference during the germ season.
Clean Toys
Along with normal cleaning and laundry, we also make sure to wipe down and clean Brooke’s toys. They get dirty constantly on the ground or end up in her mouth. Some toys even go back and forth between home and the car, so no telling how many germs end up on them when we are on the go. Making this a priority has helped a lot.
Fitness Schedule
I also came up with a quick and simple fitness schedule to keep us healthy this season. Being active is so important and even little steps can go a long way. While chasing after a mini toddler is a work out, I have added little things in my day to make sure I am staying active and I completely recommend it for back to school prep and combating germs.
I really believe that ALL of these steps have helped us combat sickness and germs this fall. What essentials do you stock up on or what steps do you take to combat germs in your family?
