29 Week Bumpdate
size of the baby: Acorn Squash – about 15.2+ inches, and over 3 pounds!
total weight gain: about 17 pounds (i lost a little bit this past week)
gender: Little Man
clothes: Well, since I am officially on “modified” bed rest now, my wardrobe consists of leggings, comfy tees, kevin’s work out pants, etc. All things big and comfy.
movement: He is constantly on the move and shifting everywhere. He makes me jump a lot.
sleep: I have been waking up every 3 hours or so, I guess my body is getting ready for that new baby schedule.
missing: Being able to help around the house and pick Brooke up. It is really hard to let my husband do everything around the house. I am VERY thankful for him, but I love helping around the house too.
craving: French fries and ice cream.
symptoms/update: Well, if you didn’t see on social media, I started having contractions on Sunday morning at church. As church went on, they got closer together and stronger, so I knew we had to go to the hospital. Kevin went and got Brooke from bible class during communion and pulled the car around and off to the hospital we went. My contractions were about 8-12 minutes apart, so we had my cousin meet us at the hospital to get Brooke.
They started the whole triage process and we found out that I was 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. My contractions were still close together, so they called my doctor and got the orders to stop my contractions. They put an IV in for more fluids and gave me a shot to stop the contractions. Then, they gave me a steroid shot for him to help him develop as much as possible. Next, we waited for everything to start kicking in. My contractions began slowing down and we started getting hopeful. Then, the medicine wore off and my contractions came back every 15 minutes. They gave me another shot, my contractions slowed, but then came back to the 15 minute mark again. And about that time, my labs came back and said I had a slight infection, so they started antibiotics in my IV.
At that point, they were pretty positive that my contractions would fade with the antibiotics, so they discharged us. Throughout the night, my contractions slowed down and we were very thankful. The next day consisted of doctor appointments and more shots. I was put on modified bed rest and our goal is to still try to get to 34 weeks before delivery.
kevin is: amazing. He is taking care of everything around the house and Brooke and me, all while working. It is a BIG job and I am thankful for his servant heart.
looking forward to: My parents coming in town this weekend to help and get things ready for this little guy coming early.
best moments: hmm… not sure on this one. It was a very tiring week with lots of abrupt change. I am thankful baby kc is still growing safely in my belly. Hopefully my body can hold up these next few weeks. Our next doctor appointment is Monday, so we will see if there are any changes from there.

Saying prayers for you sweet friend – this is very close to home for me as I am also 29 weeks and couldn’t think about the emotions of early labour now! I had my two girls at 37 weeks and 34 weeks so I am hoping our third bakes for a while longer. Sending lots of love and rest to you x
