Thanksgiving Traditions

via
I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am not sure if its the weather getting colder, or family all together, but I just love them. There are a few things that I always associate with Thanksgiving. The cool thing is that some come from Kevin’s family and some come from mine. I love how our families have meshed so well and how blessed we feel to have them.

COWBOYS I associate thanksgiving with the Dallas Cowboys game. I love the feeling of being cuddled up on the couch next to Kevin, under a blanket, warm wassail in his hand, bellies full, watching the game. It is a perfect memory, peaceful and loving.

SHOOTING I have so many memories of being in my backyard on Thanksgiving Day shooting guns at coke cans. Last year, we shot my dad’s new crossbow and it was awesome. I just have fun memories laughing with my dad, uncle and cousins outside.

PLANES, TRAINS, AUTOMOBILES Every year since Kevin and I have been together, we have watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles for Thanksgiving. We are movie people so I just have great memories of watching that with him and laughing.

FAMILY I kind of said it above, but I feel so extremely blessed for our families. We truly have great families and it is so much fun to spend time with them. We are also lucky that our parents live 10 minutes apart from each other, so it has been fairly easy for us to go back and forth on the holidays.

FOOD I would be lying if food wasn’t on my list. I love thanksgiving food. Well, I love rolls and mashed potatoes. yeah, and turkey – but really the rolls and mashed potatoes. {carbs much} lets just say taking a walk after lunch should be on my list, but hey you only live once.

What are you family traditions? I hope that you and your family have a great Thanksgiving Day tomorrow!

What a marvelous list of traditions! I just posted about Thanksgiving traditions too! Great minds, girly!
Shooting? That sounds like so much fun! The only gun I’ve ever used is a squirtgun. A crossbow sounds very “Katniss Everdeen”…I’ll bet you shoot wearing a sweet side braid too, like Jennifer Lawrence. 😉 Have a marvelous holiday!

These are such great traditions! I love all of the ‘togetherness’ that comes this time of year. So amazing! Enjoy your holidays! Super awesome that both of y’all’s parents live so.close! My in-laws are two hours away from my parents, so it’s always a road trip to visit.
