A Valentines Prayer

Wow, today is Valentine’s Day and we leave for Passion this afternoon. I have been really excited for this day and seriously can’t wait to share about my experience at the conference. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend Valentine’s Day than a morning with my amazing Husband, an afternoon of driving to Passion, and an evening at Passion. It’s going to be one for the books. I hope that your day is awesome and regardless of your relationship “status,” I hope that you feel truly loved today.

Lord, in the midst of this love crazed day, I want to thank you for loving me. I am so underserving, yet YOU pursue me daily. Your grace abounds for me and I pray that it would outwardly flow from me. I thank You for blessing me with my husband and trusting us with Your covenant of marriage. You have given us the opportunity to share Your love through our marriage. Loving can be hard at times, we are stubborn, we put ourselves first, we are impatient, we are unforgiving. But, God, my prayer is that You would help us love each other like You love us, perfectly. Teach me how to be a good wife, teach me how to be patient, forgiving, and how to put my husband first. God I pray that we would always lean on each others strengths, and forgive each others weaknesses. Lord, give me a heart running towards You. Lord, I know that true, unconditional love is only built by You. I pray for wisdom in our marriage and guidance so that we would follow Your will for lives. Lord, I lay my expectations at Your feet. Help me to release my husband from the burden of fulling me in areas where I should be looking to You. I realize that he is human and sinful, as am I, we cannot completely satisfy each other apart from you. Today, my heart overflows with thankfulness for you and all the people in my life. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for pursing me daily. Amen.
