I would definitely define myself as a mom on the go. Between working full time, blogging, taking care of Brooke and our household, I find myself constantly running around like crazy. One of the biggest lessons I have learned as a mom in the past year is to always be prepared and go with the flow. I make sure I don’t leave the house without essentials each day. My husband does an amazing job at helping me make sure the diaper bag is packed each night, so I can just grab it and go in the mornings without a thought. I can’t express enough how vital this is to helping me be successful.
Another aspect of being prepared is making sure I have everything I need for the day. After finding myself in a few unpleasant situations, I decided to put together a “Emergency Kit for Moms” and share it with you. One of the main items in this kit is a back up deodorant. I’ve partnered with Dove to tell you all about their Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant and a few other key items!
Here a few essentials I keep in my Emergency Kit for Moms:
Water Bottle
This is a must have for me. I drink about 10-12 bottles of water a day, so I like to constantly have one with me. You can keep this item in your car all the time, however, this is the one thing I replenish daily. I like to have a fresh water in my car at all times. I have incorporated this into my daily routine by grabbing one as I head out of the house each morning.
Snack
Winner. Winner. If I don’t have an extra snack in my car, I can get really hangry, really fast. It is essential that I keep a snack in my car for me and for Brooke. Brooke’s stays in her diaper bag and mine stays in my center console. I tend to eat my snack in emergency only, like when I get stuck in traffic in the afternoon, or if I am just extra hungry in the morning.
Dove Advanced Car Antiperspirant
Chasing after a one year old can be a lot of work, thus, sometimes (okay a lot of times) I find myself needing deodorant. I use Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant, because it offers up to 48-hours of odor and wetness protection, which is must needed in Texas heat. It also has a NutriumMoisture formula which is an added skin care benefit, leaving your underarms feeling soft and smooth. 88% of women prefer a deodorant with added added skincare benefits, so this is an essential upgrade to your daily beauty routine. Deodorant is so important that 49% of women go back home when they forget it, 67% distance themselves from others, and 87% feel self-conscious. You can see from those statistics why it is essential to your Mom Emergency Kit!
Lip Moisturizer
My lips are constantly dry, so lip moisturizer is key for me. I hate being without it and having dry lips. Because of this, I keep one in my purse, one at my desk, one in my bedside table, and one in my Emergency Kit. I have so many so that I can always find one close to me!
Extra Diapers
Your thinking, these go in the diaper bag. Yes, you would be correct. However, we have been eating at restaurant only to find out that all the diapers in the bag were used that day and Brooke is sitting in a dirty diaper. I almost asked another mom in the restaurant for one. It was so embarrassing and I vowed to never be without one again. Because of this, I always keep three extra diapers in my emergency kit. This gives me peace of mind that they are always in the car with me.
Hand Sanitizer
Again, as a mom, I am constantly changing diapers, wiping runny noses and cleaning off Brooke’s face. I like to make sure that my hands are always as germ free as possible. Because of this, hand sanitizer is always kept in my emergency kit. Sometimes I use a baby wipe for convenience, but I try to use hand sanitizer the most.
