Happy Monday Friends! I hope you are getting to enjoy a day off today. My plans are to play with Brooke and catch up on a few things around the house before our mini vacation next week. I am getting really excited to spend a few days with my little family. One of my favorite joys is watching Kevin and Brooke play together. This past week, Brooke has been obsessed with pushing her walker all over the house. We made a game of it where she pushes her walker to one of us, then gives us a kiss, and we turn it around for her to go back in different direction. This little game goes on and on and she just giggles. She loves pushing her walker by herself. The other day, I snapped these adorable pictures of the two of them playing the game.
They also love bedtime together. I can remember this time last year, Kevin would sing to Brooke and rock her to sleep in our room. Over the past year, her bedtime routine has changed, but she still loves Dada putting her to bed. I normally giver her a bath, put her Johnson’s® lotion on and her pjs on. Then, Kevin brushes her teeth, reads her a book, and says prayers with her. Then, we give her kisses and lay her down with her blanket. This is such a precious time together each night.
I have loved watching Brooke grow and Kevin grow as a father this past year. The #LittleWonders of parenting truly are the best. I want to always remember the sound of Brooke’s laughter while playing with Dada and the look on her face when she gets so excited that he is home from work. I hold these little moments so close to my heart.
We are coming up on Father’s Day soon, and I can’t wait to celebrate Kevin and the awesome dad he is to Brooke.
