28 Week Bumpdate
size of the baby: Eggplant – about 14.8 inches, and over 2.5 pounds!
total weight gain: about 18 pounds (I’m about the same as I was with Brooke)
gender: Little Man
clothes: I was primarily still at home during the 28th week, which meant lots of comfy clothes and leggings. But, I know I will be back to jeans more since I am back to work.
movement: This guy constantly moves around. He got up in my ribs on NYE which made me VERY uncomfortable all night long.
sleep: I haven’t been sleeping as good anymore. I have been waking up a lot and can’t seem to get comfortable. I think sleep is over for now until this babe gets here and learns to sleep through the night.
missing: my normal body and feel comfortable.
craving: I had a strong Ice Cream craving over the weekend and thankfully, me and Kevin got to go get Ice Cream on Sunday night.
symptoms: Normal pregnancy discomfort, knotting at my injection site and redness. After talking with my doctor at our appointment, we are pretty sure that I am allergic to the oil base of the shot. We are working with the pharmacy to get my oil base changed for the last 5 shots. Hopefully it works! The countdown is on.. 5 more to go!
kevin is: working on understanding my “nesting” outbursts lol. I had some pretty strong nesting instincts kick in this week and I was on an organizing frenzy. I feel like I was way more organized and prepared for Brooke, and while we have a plan for KC, I just don’t feel the same. I am trying to work through it and focus on relaxing.
looking forward to: These last few weeks as a family of three. I am trying to soak up as much time as I can with Brooke and focusing on her. I know we have such a short time left with her as an only child. In some aspects, my heart hurts thinking of that, and in some ways I am so incredibly excited. It is such a strange emotion.
best moments: Getting to spend NYE with Kevin’s family and having them in town for a few days! We were very blessed to have all of our family come to us this holiday season. It made things a lot easier not having to travel with being so pregnant.
medical update: At our doctor’s appointment on Monday, everything went pretty normal. I lost a little weight (which my doctor wasn’t concerned with) and his heartbeat was good. Its time for my TDAP shot so I will be getting that soon. We talked over trying to switch up my shot base to reduce the reaction and we will be doing a Fetal Fibronectin Test toward the end of the month.
