A Letter To My Two Year Old

Dear Brooke,

Oh my Lamby, this year went by way too fast. It is so hard to believe that you have almost been in our little family for two years now. In the past year, we have watched you learn and grow so much. You learned how to walk, your vocabulary has expanded immensely, and you love to play! You constantly bring a smile to mine and daddy’s face. We cannot give you enough kisses each day.

You also became a big sister this year. You may not have known what was really happening, but you noticed my belly changing. You liked to lift up my shirt to see my belly button and kiss “brother” goodnight. Now that brother is here, you couldn’t love him more. You are the best big sister. You check on him when he cries, give him his pacifier, cover him with his blanket and give him loads of kisses. You are so caring and loving. I have loved watching your little personality shine through.

While you are kind and caring, you are also crazy and sassy. You are constantly on the move and all over the place. You keep us on our toes. You love to sing songs and shake your booty to music. You love playing outside and taking your shoes off/putting them back on. You could watch Beauty and the Beast or Frozen all day long. You are a ball of energy and sunshine. You are so incredibly fun.

I’ll never forget your daddy sneaking in your room at night to give you more kisses or the times you cuddled with us in the morning in mommy and daddy’s bed. You even sleep in a big girl bed now and you are starting to have strong opinions on what bows and shoes you wear.

I know we are heading into the “terrible twos” and that you will start to press your boundaries even more. I just pray for grace and lots of patience for us this year. I know it will be trying at times, but I cannot wait! Every day with you is such a gift. You are truly loved and treasured sweet girl. Happy 2nd Birthday!!
