Holidays, big and small, are really special in our family. For as long as I can remember, we have decorated for holidays, and given each other cards. My mom owned a small gift shop while I was growing up, so giving cards was always a big deal for us. My husband and I have taken this into our marriage and we always try to outdo each other with the best card. And, now, that I am grown and have kids of my own, my parents still send us cards on holidays. There is something so special about receiving a card in the mail. We have even made it a daily task where Brooke and I go check the mail together. She gets so excited and loves pulling out the letters.
Mother’s day is extra special to me, because I know how much my parents did for me now that I am a mom. There is just something special about a parents love. And, its VERY special when you can celebrate them as grandparent too! This year, we are sending our Mother’s Day cards with a special craft from Brooke. Toddler crafts are just so incredibly cute and perfect to pair with a Hallmark card. NEW Hallmark Signature cards, now available at Walmart! I loaded up the kids this week and went to pick out our cards and craft supplies.
You Will Need
Pipe Cleaner
Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Tape
11 x 17 Envelope
We decided to create a handprint flower bouquet craft to send with our Mother’s Day Cards! Follow the steps below to create your bouquet:
Step 1: Gather all of your supplies and prepare your craft space.
Step 2: Next, take your toddlers hand and trace it on the paper. You can let them help if they are interested or do it for them. Brooke is at the age where she LOVES when I trace her hand and she likes to trace mine too. You need 3 – 5 good handprints. (If you feel like getting out paint, you can also use paint to create handprints on the paper)
Step 3: Cut out the handprints and tape them to a green pipe cleaner.
Step 4: Use a different color pipe cleaner to create the “leaves” and tie them all together in a bouquet.
The bouquet looks the best with 3-5 handprint flowers. And, once you are done, you can place your Hallmark card and your craft in a 11×17 envelope to mail.
Don’t forget the mothers in your life for Mother’s Day! There are only 16 days left so head to Walmart because they offer a wide range of Hallmark greeting cards from Seasonal (Mothers Day, Christmas, etc.) to Special Occasions (Birthdays,Graduation, etc). I highly suggest Hallmark Signature cards, they are a line of premium, handcrafted greeting cards, and Walmart is again featuring the collection.
