Ahh! We have less than two weeks until Mother’s Day now. Last week I shared my mother’s day gift guide and a toddler mothers day craft. I also mentioned that after becoming a mom, I appreciate my mom on a whole new level! They say you really don’t know a mother’s love until you become one and that is so true. It is a different type of sacrifice, patience and love. It really makes Mother’s Day more special to be able to celebrate my mom in a different way. She Needs A Laugh
My mom is incredibly selfless and is constantly doing things for other people, myself included. She has had a lot of “stress-ers” in her life lately and I know she just needs a little more laughter in her days. I send her funny texts when I can about her granddaughter. Just last week, I sent her a text telling her that I found Brooke playing in the toilet water and giving herself a “bath” with toilet paper and toilet water. It was one of those if you don’t laugh, you’d cry moments as a mom. She reminded me of one of those moments she had with me when I colored on the back of the couch with a red crayon. This conversation gave us a lot of laughter and I figured it would be even better talking about over Butter!
She Put Up With Me
Like I just mentioned, red crayon… on the back of her couch. Need I say more? The woman totally deserves Butter after some of the stunts I pulled. She saved some of my old notes home from school and I would constantly get in trouble for waking kids up at nap time and once, I even spit on the lunch room floor. Let’s just say, she had her hands full!
She Needs To Relax
She deserves some me time and time to relax. Honestly, every mom does. While being a mom has brought me immense joy, it is the toughest job I have ever had. It demands your all, every day, all day. You don’t even get to go to the bathroom by yourself with little ones. For my mom and I, both of us love going shopping together and have so many memories walking around the mall. This is really our time to relax and enjoy our friendship. Now that I am older, we like to end the days with a good meal and, of course, a nice glass of wine.
She’s My Best Friend
There is just something special and fun about sitting down for a nice glass with your best friend, especially when its your mom. You can talk about old memories, laugh about the crazy things your kids do, and just enjoy hanging out.
