If you have been around Simply Clarke a while, you probably know that I love making simple moments special and fun. It’s the little everyday moments that make up your life and set the tone for your days. With the back to school season well under way, I am starting to get creative with lunch time for the kids. My kids love food and I love surprising them with fun lunches while they are at school. Having kids has really taught me to cherish the little moments and see the world through their eyes. I try to help them see joy in small things and have as much fun as possible. Here are 4 Ways to Keep Lunch Time Fun:
Use the Best
My first key is starting with the best foods, like Prime Fresh™ by Smithfield® . As parents, we know that the proper lunch can be essential to our kids’ day and makes all the difference. So, I prep with foods I know my kids love and that will fill their bellies throughout the day. I use products like Prime Fresh by Smithfield that I know I trust! Prime Fresh is one of my favorite lunch meats because you get high quality meat without having to wait in the deli line at Albertsons. You can find it in the packaged meat section, and they have so many great varieties like Honey Ham, Smoked Ham, Pillow Oven Roasted Turkey, Smoked Turkey Breast and Smoked Roast Beef.
Create Faces
Like I said, see the world through their eyes. My kids love when I do something creative with their lunch by making a funny face. They just giggle for so long about how funny it is and then they interact with the food and eat it all up! It’s so special to see how much they enjoy a happy face! You can find great ideas for simple faces on Pinterest or just get back to your roots as kid and create one yourself! I made this fun face in the bread first and you can see through to the Prime Fresh by Smithfield Oven Roasted Turkey, but you can always use other objects to make a face on top of the bread as well.
Add Additions
Now this part is fun and something I have come up with by accident. One day, Brooke didn’t want to eat anything. We went rounds and rounds, when finally, she said she just wanted sprinkles. I put a few sprinkles on her lunch and it was like magic. She ate every last bite, just because I added a few little sprinkles to it. The point of the story is to think outside of the box. Add a little something your kids enjoy! My kids also enjoy when I make shapes with their lunch like crafting their Smithfield Prime Fresh Oven Roasted Turkey into little stars.
Leave Notes
Now, my favorite – leaving them notes! I know at this age, my kids can only recognize their names, so I like to draw them little pictures. I know this will get even better as they get old and I can leave them written notes. For now, they enjoy my pictures and it’s a nice little surprise for them.
Overall, I think my favorite part besides giving them a great lunch filled with items like Smithfield Prime Fresh, is that their special lunches give them a little reminder of me in their day. I love making them smile and brining them joy. I just picture them opening up their lunches and it brings me so much joy.
